Can I wear sneakers in July?

Yes. I never wear sandals and have been in July. Just have a second pair for next day because if you sweat allot will need them. I prefer sneakers because more support for my feet. Just have a good pair.

I once wore a pair of Mickey Crocks for a day. The kind with the multiple Mickey head cutout tops. At the end of the day the tops of my feet had the neatest sunburnt outline of little Mickey's that took weeks to fade away.

I live in SW FL and wear sneakers year round, everywhere everyday. Yes I wear them to Disney in the summer. I bring 2 pairs so I have a dry pair for the next day. I know they will get wet from the afternoon monsoons we get.
I tried wearing crocs, but in the rain they are extremely slippery. I don't reccomend them at all for the parks in the summer

I have a pair of Keen walking sandals that can get wet, dry rather quickly and are super comfy. Usually I make sure to wear the sandals on "water ride" days!
Same! I try to switch them out every other day with ASIC or New balance that I put my custom orthotics into

I try and wear my tennis shoes if I know it won't rain/ not going on water rides....however, in Florida, you never really 'know' if its gonna rain, so always taking a chance. If rain is predicted or if it's actually raining when we venture out, I wear my hideous crocs. (sorry Ryno.) I know they're ugly, but at least I have the Frozen blue sparkly ones. I have TONS of feet issues (bunions,) and crocs are one of the few brands that don't aggravate them. THey do give me blisters some times. Back to tennis shoes tho, hubby's feet get hot in them, he wears sandals. If you're going to go w them in the summer, when afternoon showers can be common, bring an extra pair.

I always wear sneakers to Disney and usually go when it is hot. I wear Asics gel contend. The current model is airy and light with good arch support. I believe it is Gel contend 6.

I hate sandals and flip flops with the sort of irrational hatred that never burns out. Every time I wear them I burn my feet, even when I think I’m being super careful about sunscreen. Can I get away with wearing sneakers to DW in early July (6-11) or will it be unbearable with the heat?

I was thinking I’d pack flip flops in my park bag just in case of rain or water rides and just switch them out when necessary.
It really depends on what you're used to. We only wear sneakers in the parks and have done a few July 4th trips. But we're from Texas and the weather we're used to makes Florida temperatures seem cool. If you're already concerned about the heat it might be an issue for you.

I bring a pair of sneakers, sandals and Crocs and switch them up. As far as being hot, if it's summer all of me is hot, so my feet being hot are just a minor discomfort at that point.

I recommend bringing two pairs of sneakers. We start off the morning in one pair, go back to the hotel for a nap and quick rest, and then spend the rest of the night in my second pair. It makes a difference for comfort, and also when it rains!

But to the original question re sneakers in July, I've worn sneakers in the parks year-round without issue.

I'm a local, and normally live my life in sandals, and flips... Except when we go to the park - DH wears vans, or deck shoes or sometimes athletic shoes, for me Skechers, Keds, Blowfish or my athletic shoes.... all light weight.. why you wonder.... well for several reasons, comfort first of all, sandals even the ones created for walking... still in my opinion do not give enough support for all day walking... plus leaving your feet out in the open, you can face sunburn which if you have ever had sunburned feet is not fun and quite painful, this alone could ruin your trip. Then think about all the stroller, scooters, or wheelchairs... zipping about... on Saturday night we were Epcot, we stop to take a restroom break, and this lady leaving the restroom gets on the scooter, and takes off knocking her grandchild and another woman to the ground, plows across the walk way, and runs into the curb, almost knocking herself off it in the process... while she was plowing across the walkway, she almost ran over several other people, who where bobbing and weaving to stay out of her path... which leads me to traction I personally feel you get better traction in shoes especially when facing afternoon thunder showers, much more stability... and if you have to run for cover due to the weather or scooter you will not run out of them...

I bring several options of foot wear to change it up, as well good socks or footlets... one of my favorite tricks is to bring an extra pair of sock or footlets with me into the parks and then change them when I need to, bring a ziploc or a baggie to put the soiled socks into so your day back doesn't start smelling... a fresh pair of socks is a good way to go... In the hotel room you can use sneaker balls for shoes that might not be smelling so fresh... these little gems work well...

I always wear tennis shoes the entire time. They dry quick even on the water rides!

I recently sprung a few bucks for bombas merino wool ankle socks. They are SO comfortable! I will get another pair of Brooks walking shoes this summer for our trip. I've had a TKR so stable shoes are a must. I have lots of Clarks, Teva and Sketchers sandals and bring at least two pair but only for around the resort.

Last year my DIL walked 13 miles in "the wrong shoes" and she's a WDW veteran! Good luck and be comfortable!
Well. . .
We have a June trip planned and I needed some new shoes. At our local sporting goods store, I tried on a pair of Brooks running shoes. It was like a dream. I have several foot problems. After wearing the shoes for the first time today - all day - I didn't have any foot pain at all. Thank you!

My husband is 59 and has been a sneakers guy thru and thru all his life....until very recently. Just got back from a long weekend to St. Simons Island. The heat and humidity is already in full force. Most days in the 90's. My husband actually purchased a pair of Teva's after years and years of trying to get him at least to try them on. He couldn't be happier.

Contrary to my intuition, wearing wool socks are actually better in the heat and rain. They will keep your feet drier from sweat and rain.

I would not wear flip flops because I've seen so many people get stepped on when someone backs up, or changes course suddenly. I always wear sneakers with good arch support, and lately, I wear a good pair of "water shoes". They look like sneakers, but are designed to work in water and dry quickly. Lands End has some cute ones.
Merrill also has water sneakers.

I alternate between two pairs. Some days I'll wear my Keens. Other days I'll wear my Nike Free RN's with Injinji toe socks. I prefer to wear tennis shoes to the parks in general, but if there's a very high chance of rain or I'm riding Kali, then I'm 100% wearing my Keens.

I wish I could handle flip flops in the park but my feet burn (on the bottom, not talking about sunburn, strange I know) So I wear ASICS running shoes because they are very lightweight and provide support. But seamless moisture wicking socks are key to avoiding blisters. Wright socks are my go to. Smart wool socks are good although they tend to slip so I’m looking for replacement.
