My first attempt at writing a trip report.....be patient with me.
Who: Diane (me) somewhere between 30 and 40
Mom if I wrote her age down, I wouldn't see tomorrow!
Dad 66 (gives you a clue on mom's age)
Where: Animal Kingdom Lodge
When: November 28 - December 8
Why: It's Christmas time!
I'm the only person in my family that has an obsession with Walt Disney World. I'm not sure who I inherited it from! I've visited with friends and solo - this is my first visit with my parents - and my father's first visit ever to WDW (can you believe that??)
Pre-Trip Notes: I travel 3-4 weeks a month for work and can usually plan my trips to ensure I'm home for a week before I go on vacation. This time it didn't work. The 8 days before I left on vacation I did the following trip: Denver to Minneapolis to Los Angeles to San Diego to Chicago and finally back to Denver! All I wanted to do when I got home was to sleep for 2 days....not turn around and leave 24 hours later. I know, I know...I should be tarred and feathered for wanting to put off a trip to WDW for a day!
My parents are not park people, so I'll do the fun, thrill rides on days I go to the parks along. I did manage to do some planning prior to leaving, I have an AP and I got my parents 4 day hopper passes, thanks to Hilton Honors points! Here is our tentative plan:
Thursday 11/28: Travel via United DEN/MCO (upgrade via first class vouchers). Tiffany Town Car to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Dinner at Boma.
Friday 11/29: Sleep In, Watch the Animals. Parks
Saturday 11/30: Sleep In, Watch the Animals, Parks
Sunday 12/1: Parents arrive, hang at resort
Monday 12/2: Animal Kingdom/MGM with parents
Hollywood Brown Derby for dinner
Tuesday 12/3: Laundry in morning, EPCOT at night
Wednesday 12/4: EPCOT with parents
Thursday 12/5: EPCOT with parents
Candlelight Processional (Rose/Crown)
Friday 12/6: Magic Kingdom/MGM
Saturday 12/7: Park day with parents.
Sunday 12/8: Downtown Disney. Return flight at 5:00pm via United
This is my first time vacationing with my parents as an adult. They are letting me plan everything! YIKES....I'm not a planner, I just get on whichever bus arrives first.
