I am confused...how did you switch it? You used DH AP to get the BRP, but you booked under yours? You need a number from the AP to get to the site. Did you get to the site using his # then put in your info? I really thought they stated that it had to be the same person.clkelley said:You actually can.
I used my hubby's active AP to get a Best Rate Room. Then when it came time to actually book the room, I logged in under MY Disney online account. Then the reservation switched to being in my name, and my hubby the AP holder was the secondary guest. I used my CC, and the reservation came through.
The AP holder has to be a guest in the room and on the reservation, but they do not have to be the primary guest.
(I too will be an AP holder by the time I arrive, but because I travel to WDW more than my hubby does, our APs tend to be on different cycles.)

I don't remember seeing a place to change the log in, but then again I wasn't looking either... I guess as long as you will have your active AP by the time you check in, they can't say anything. It is your name, your credit card & your AP. In the case of the OP, I would think that she will not be able to do it since she isn't the one with the AP. I am only saying that since that is how the Disney site words it.... must be AP holder, AP holder's credit card & show valid AP at check in... which is your case but not OP's. I don't think I would chance it if I did't have an AP at all & went on the hopes that the AP holder only has to be in the room... Disney can get them on the terms that they agreed to.. Do you see what I am saying?clkelley said:I plugged in his AP at the passholder site and found the room and dates I wanted at the Best Rate program. To then actually book the room, you have to log into disney.com. I logged in with his email and password, and was about to pay with our personal credit card, but THEN the website gave me an option to CHANGE my login if I wanted to use a different family member credit card. My corporate CC has a better rewards program, so I did that and then I became the primary on the room with my CC, and the reservation changed him to a secondary on the room with his Annual Pass still listed.
I followed the steps as allowed by the Disney Passholder website.

Carol..... actually I do remember seeing that now that you have it spelled out like that! I thought it was odd asking if I wanted to change the log in. If I didn't have an AP I wouldn't chance doing it, even if the AP holder was going to be in the room. I would be too afraid that they may say something to the effect about how there offical terms stated AP holder must make the ressie etc.....clkelley said:I'm walking through the Best Rate Program now just to test what I did before.
Step 1 - Signed into Passholder sight with hubby's AP.
Step 2 - Found resort and dates with Best Rates available. (In this case November 8-11 at Carribbean Beach Resort) - Clicked two adults.
Step 3 - Magical Express information - bypassed this for this example.
Step 4 - Clicked requests such as nonsmoking, etc.
Step 5 - Clicked book this offer
Step 6 - You get to a login screen.
Step 7 - Logged in under hubby's disney.com account
Step 7 - At this point I got the following screen:
"Registered Name / Cardholder
MR. XXXXXXXXXXX (Changed name to xxxxxs)
For security reasons, the credit card holder and logged-in Guest must be the same. To continue with your transaction please either:
Ensure that the credit card you are using is issued in your name
Log out and have the credit card holder(if other than yoursefl) register/log-in."
Step 8 - I clicked the log out button and logged in under my disney.com login.
Step 9 - I got a screen to input my credit card and it still showed my hubby's passholder ID (In a field you can't edit). Then it had a place to input my hubby's name as the second guest.
So I was following the rules of Disney's website. I don't see why the OP couldn't do the same especially if her father is a guest in the room.
Now I wouldn't recommend folks doing this if a passholder is not intending to be a guest in the room.
They probably instituted this (if it wasn't there all the time, I don't know cause I didn't even look at the AP website until they instituted the 60 day rule) when folks complained that not everyone has a credit card in their name.
Doing it this way would also be useful if the passholder is arriving later than other guests and this would allow the earliest arrival in the party be the primary guest.

to be on the safe side, I would call Disney to verify that they will allow you to check in. I would hate to get there & find out my rates have changed. I only say that becasue they way they word it on their site... just explain to them when you call that your "dad didn't have a credit card".cstraub said:I was able to book a room using my dad's CC after I logged on. I became the primary guest and it was still showing the AP rate.
Thanks!
