Can I use husbands ticket?

Are all tickets now screened with the fingerprinting? Wondering if I will be able to use by husbands ticket if he decides not to do day 5 ( I am using an old 4 day park hopper) My daughter has a 5 day also, and depending on who has the most energy at the end of the week-would do day 5 with her.

Tickets are non-transferrable. All tickets have a biometric scan to prevent them from being transferred. So, no, you can't use someone else's ticket.

just curious on this, if you look on ebay, you see tons of tickets up for sale, does that mean that everyone buying partially used tickets is getting screwed? you would think if that was the case, ebay would stop allowing the tickets to be sold, not too mention the enormous amount of people complaing to ebay, etc about getting tickets they can't use.

I wonder if the finger scans actually work or if its merely a deterrent to make people think they really work.

I heard that sometimes the scans don't work, and ou have to reset your scan...so you could possibly use DH's ticket, just claiming the scan didn't work, and reset the scan...but if they ask for ID, that may not work.

My understanding (from a good source) is that the finger scan is an experiment for future ticketing options. This is only an experiment. If you think about it what about the family with lots of kids dad stands up the shoving in tickets the probaly almost never match the person going through the turnstyle. I really don't think you will have a problem and if you do disney is very accomidating. Have great fun!!

They are doing the finger scanning for a reason....to prevent people from using other people's passes. So, it would stand to reason the if you try to use someone else's pass, after that person has been scanned into the system, the turnstyle would reject you. Then, in a perfect world, the CM would ask you to try it again, it fails and you would be asked for ID before they allowed you to enter the park. Yes, I have seen it happen that way. I have also seen them just wave you through when the machine doesn't work.

Kali, your source is wrong. The ticket scan does work because my wife and I have gotten our tickets backwards and had to change them around.

Anyone buying partially used tickets is doing so at great risk. Biometric scan or not, the tickets are non-transferrable and always have been. This is cleary stated on the ticket.

I don't understand this?? If I buy tickets for my family shouldn't I be able to use somebodys unused day if I paid for it. I think they need some other system. Personally if I were not to use all my days I should be able to go home and offer to my niece a ticket that I paid for. What does it matter to Disney who uses the ticket on an unused day if it was paid for, it's just substituting one person for another not adding someone else for free. I just don't understand. But yes rules are rules

By "old" I assume you never did the biometric scan when you last used it? In that case, give it to your DH from now.

I have also read that if you enter for the first time as a group and do your biometrics one after the other, the tickets are saved in the system as a group, which means that if the tickets within your family group get mixed up it doesn't matter - the 3 tickets and 3 biometrics (or two if your DD is under 10) would match as a group. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

ETA: if the group thing works then he might be able to enter on your ticket b/c it's part of the same group. I would only try this option if he was not able to get in on day 1 with your old ticket.

No it does not work that way. The extra days are extremely cheap and this would reduce the revenue from your niece. You are doing this because it saves money for you but it costs Disney money.

You aren't buying a ticket per se, you are buying admission to a park. I compare it to my gym membership, I am buying admission to the gym to use the equipment. I can't transfer that to my niece or my husband or anyone else just because I am not going to the gym that day.

Ok, I really wanted to split the 5th day between both of us-but I guess
I will decide before the trip who will take our dd on the 5th day and
just assign that person the 5 day hopper. I will ask a cm when we
get there, but its not a big deal. By the way I paid for 4 day PH and got the 5th day free! Its a special thru Mapleleaf. I also saw online thru tourist(can't
remember the full name) had a special that you get 2 days xtra for free if you
buy the 4 day PH!!

This USED to be true, our family would switch our AP's around pretty regularly (sometimes by accident and sometimes on purpose just to see what would happen). However, now they've they gone from the v-finger scan to just the fingerprint, the machines don't let us through. Each member of our family had to have their correct AP. The new scan must be storing more info than previously.
