Can I upgrade to park hopper?

I never buy park hoppers, but I'm considering it this trip if Genie + is operational, to increase the number of rides I could use it on. I am going November 19-21, and already have my park reservations. I'd probably make a last minute decision, based on crowds and whether or not Genie + is in effect. Will I be precluded from upgrading based on park availability? I am guessing parks will be out of reservations by the time I'm able to make this decision. Thanks for any insight you experts might have!

You can only upgrade a ticket at the ticket booth and they will only do it if there are park hopper reservations available. I tried to do it once when there weren’t any reservations left (I had a single park reservation) and they wouldn’t do it.
