If it is part of my package, so the ticket will be on my room key, can I upgrade it to a annual pass? If so, it is a 10 day hopper, no exp. When should I upgrade? before i ever use it at all? And does anyone know how much it would cost to do so? TIA for any help!!

Yes you can upgrade any ticket as long as the price of the new ticket costs more than the ticket you are upgrading from. We upgraded our MYW tickets to AP's last year. You can upgrade anytime before the last day of your current ticket.

Yes, you can upgrade.

It might be easier to do if your ticket is not on your room key, which you can ask for when you check in.

Just take your tickets to a Guest Relations window at the first theme park you visit when you arrive and tell them you want to upgrade. It doesn't matter when you upgrade, as long as you do it before the MYW ticket expires, but your AP will be back-dated to the first day you used the MYW ticket, so you might as well get the AP as soon as possible.

APs are also much easier to replace if you lose them, which is another reason to do the upgrade as soon as you have the chance.

The cost to upgrade will be the difference between the MYW ticket you're upgrading and the cost of a new AP.

Do you know if there is s difference in how they determine cost? meaning, if I upgrade my 10 day tix before using any visits, do they apply the value of a 10 day tic, but as i use it does value decrease that they will apply to an AP? I know I am confusing myself, but from i figured out, if i upgrade before I ever use it it is a 25 price diff between the tic I have and the AP. If I use 3 days, does my value decrease? Make any sense at all what I am trying to say???

Thanks--that really helps! I didn't know I don't have to put it on my room key, that is cool. I am really thickheaded this morning---but, I can still keep everyone elses on their room keys though? And then I would just have 2 things, my room key with dining plan, and my AP, correct?

Do you have to do this in person or can you do it when you get home?

For example, I'm buying the park tickets for my trip separately, but in order to get the MYW package I had to add 2 1 day base tickets to my order. I'm not going to use these on my trip, but was going to save them. They won't expire if not used correct?

So back to the question-can I put these tickets towards an AP when I get home?

Any time you do a transaction that involves applying one ticket towards the cost of another one, it can only be done in person at WDW. Your 1 day package tickets will not expire and can be used for either park admission or upgrading on your next WDW visit.

so if I don't use the MYW ticket and transfer them to an AP, would the 365 days be from the date of that transaction or when I actually activate the AP on my next trip?

You can only do this at one of the parks and the AP they sell you will start on the day purchased.

You cannot trade in a MYW to buy a voucher - you can only trade in a MYW to buy a new activated AP. You can only do this at ticket windows or Guest Relations windows at the theme parks or Downtown Disney. The AP would activate on the day you buy it.

I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread.

We received 2 7day myw premium tix last november as part of our wedding package. We added on the no expiration option but didn't use the passes at all.

This year I would like to upgrade one or both to an AP. Will I have to pay the difference between what the pass cost in 05 or the cost of a 7day MYW on the day I upgrade to an AP?

Thanks

Think of it like trading in a car. The old tickets are only worth what you actuall paid for them, no matter what the current price of a new ticket is.

If you had used any part of the tickets, it would be worth less, of course, but since they are unused, you will get a credit for the full purchase price of those MYW tickets that can be used to purchase new APs.

Also remember that each MYW ticket must be used alone toward the purchase of each AP - you cannot combine multiple old tickets to trade in for one AP.

Thanks - I thought it was too good to be true that I could cash in on the recent price increases :teeth:
