Can I upgrade my Hopper Plus passes to AP's?

I bought 5 day park hopper plus passes last winter that we used during our trip this past January. We still have one hopper day plus the two plus options left on them. We are returning in August to use up the rest of the ticket, plus we were going to go to Universal for one day. I am wondering if we are able to just upgrade our hoppers to AP's and just go to the WDW parks that week instead. I think I read somewhere that you had to upgrade within 7 days of first using the tickets, but I am hoping someone here might have better information for me. Thanks!

What Disney will do is take the cost of the 5 day hopper (when you purchased it) and divide it by 5 giving the cost for one day. If there is only one day left they will then subtract that amount from the price of your AP.

They will give you a credit based on how many unused major park days there are (plus options carry no dollar value when upgrading and will in fact be lost) and what you paid for the ticket (if purchased from Disney) or on the wholesale price of the ticket (if purchased from a non-Disney source).

What you need to decide for yourself is whether it will be worth it to you to upgrade the 5 day ticket. You will only receive about a $45 credit and will be giving up about $65 in water park admissions that you will now have to pay for if you go to a water park.

The 7 day rule you referred to only applies if you want to apply the entire cost of your 5 day pass to the upgrade. That can only be done within the first 7 days of use.

Thanks for the information. I guess we will just go back to our original plan - one day park hopper, 2 days water parks, and then 1 day Universal.
