Can I upgrade hard tickets through UT before my arrival?

I purchased some 1 park/1 day tickets through UT for a Fall trip. We now want to upgrade to Park Hoppers and I was curious if there is a way to do that, through Disney directly, before arrival? I have the hard tickets in my hand already.

I could return the tickets to UT, but after their 5% fee it actually works out to being more expensive than upgrading directly through Disney...I think.

Thanks!

No you can't upgrade them now. You would be better off just waiting until you arrive.

Exactly when did you purchase the tickets?

(And, how much did they cost?)

Also, is there a reason that you bought the tickets from UT? 1 day tickets from resellers are more expensive than buying them directly from Disney.

Bought them 2/10 before the price hike on 02/11. They were just over $1200 and cheaper than Disney for the 7 day ticket.

The statement (directly above) from your first post in this thread looks to be incorrect.
It appears what you bought were 7-day/1-park per day ("base") tickets.

And, you didn't say how MANY tickets that you bought (you said, "some.")

I think that I can help you make the right decision, but I am lost without very specific details.

I see the confusion.

I bought 3 tickets total. They are 7 day, one park PER day tickets. Looking to upgrade to Parkhoppers.

From the All About Tickets Sticky:

Cost to Upgrade:

"Price bridging" for Upgrading Tickets has changed in some cases.
Tickets purchased from stock issued before the most recent
price increase of Feb. 11, 2018 (this is not necessarily related to the date that you purchased your tickets) will be bridged only to the price that Disney sold these tickets to the public at the time.

That means for a ticket
Created BETWEEN Feb.12,2017 & Feb.11,2018 (2017) Prices HERE.
----------------------------------------
Find the full Disney 2017 price for the kind of ticket that you HAVE on the 2017 Price list HERE.
Subtract that 2017 price from the current 2018 full Disney price for the kind of ticket that you WANT. 2018 Price list HERE.
Pay that difference price for the upgrade.

----------------------------------------
Per Ticket:
$521.85 7-day Park HOPPER (Current)
-436.65 7-day Park BASE (2017)
=$85.20 Cost to upgrade to HOPPER at WDW.

(All prices include tax.)

Thank you for the help. But it seems that there is no way to upgrade prior to my arrival, correct?

Was hoping to avoid find a ticket booth on the first morning since we get into Orlando so late.

Generally, third party tickets can’t be upgraded except in-person.
I wanted to tell you how much the cost to upgrade would be, so you could compare that to the 5% restock cost.

It's really not that big of a deal -- I'm pretty sure that you can do it at your resort. Or you can just stop by guest relations at some point during the day. I've never had it take more than a few minutes.

You don't need to do it the first morning, just before (or even when) you are actually hopping. Stop on the way out, or swing through and do it mid day, etc.

No, you can't.

Adding days and hopper, etc., can (usually) be done at the resort concierge.
In some cases, the concierge CMs don't really know how to do it,
so they sometimes decline the request.

But, the resorts can't do upgrades to (or anything related to) APs.

I have added days to my ticket at the hotel. You need to do it before your last day. You can also wait to see if you will really use the PH feature before adding it. You can add it right before you hop.

No need to add hopping that early morning. You can do it inside the park during a lull in your plans and before you go to hop.
