Can I transfer/rent points in a holding account?

Newbie question --

We just switched our ressie from VB to SSR for 3/4-3/9, which left us with a difference of 35 points placed in a holding account.

Can we transfer these points to another member? I would assume that it is possible with the 60-day rule applied?

Ok, my first attempt and answering anything on the boards as I am also very new.

No you can not transfer these points. They can only be used for a reservation or be lost if not used.

I had a person transfer her points to my account and then I used my holding points also to make her reservation. It seems like the only way to use them.

You could "rent" them as you have to make the reservation. I think, but not sure.

Actually holding account points CAN be transferred. They are still technically subject to the other limitations of expiring at the end of the use year and booking in the 60 day window though many in the past have seen that these restrictions melted away once the transfer was completed. Here is a quote from MS by email:

Holding account points can be transferred, however, Holding Account Vacation Points will remain in a
Holding Account in the new membership.

They latter hasn't been my experience in talking to those that have actually done it over the years.
