What has been the recent experience with this? Is it okay to bring beverages and snacks into the parks.

Yup! You just can't bring glass, rolling coolers, or things to make a meal. It has to prepared ahead of time. We bring in all of the regular kids snacks fish crackers, uncrustables, frozen water bottles, capri suns, frozen gogurts, cheese sticks, salami ritz crackers! Hope that helps! Have fun!:goodvibes

Yes! And as the other post said, the thing they checked for was glass. We brought in fruits, sandwiches, and even little sushi things I made and had no problems.

You are allowed up to a "six pack size" cooler to bring into the park...as others mentioned, no glass and per-assembled items. You can bring in a sandwich, just not the fixins to make a sandwich.

While there at the end of March, every day we took lunch into the park with us.
We used a small soft side cooler which we packed with ready made Tuna salad packs. cheese sticks. crackers. slim jims, fruit packs, pre cut apple packs.. etc etc..
Went to target before we left WA and got the Mickey mouse water bottles. $7.99 each. we filled with water and froze. put on a sleeve to keep cold and took crystal lite packs with us.
We also took. fruit snacks, granola bars and fruit leather etc as well to snack on over the day..

After lunch everything was thrown away and we had room in our back pack for souvenirs. :yay:

We did the same thing with Sea world and Knotts Berry Farm and had no trouble getting the food in... I know some people have had trouble with other parks..

Definitely yes ! Last trip we took a small carry on shoulder bag which had bottles of water , LifeWater , granola bars , energy bars and other small snacks. I think we bought a total of maybe 4 beverages at the park itself during our 3 days there. We would eat a light lunch and have dinner in Downtown Disney. Our food costs was very low compared to other trips. Pack non perishable snacks and it's easy to snack in between rides :)

And, if you take in frozen water bottles you can wrap them in tin foil to keep them frozen longer. :)

Officially the answer is No. But they deffiently allow you to bring in prepared food in. You can bring a PB&J Sandwhich but you can not bring bread, peanut butter & Jelly.

Officially the answer is No.

Do they have it on their website that you can't bring in outside food? I thought it said you could. I mean, I know they let you, but I thought the "official answer" was "yes" (with restrictions).

We bring in a soft sided cooler with Subway sandwiches everytime. :)

From the Dining FAQ's on Disneyland.com
Can I bring food into Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park?
With the exception of food items for Guests with specific dietary restrictions, food or beverage items are not permitted into either of the Disneyland Resort theme parks.
But they also say the following in the Theme Park FAQ's
What items are not permitted within Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park?
Items not permitted include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Coolers larger than 6-pack sized are not permitted into the theme parks.
So Yes you can offically bring in a small soft-sided cooler to store food for your special dietary needs. But not for your Subway sandwhichs to save money. But to me a rule that is notenforced is not a rule. So until they enforce the no outside food rule, I will continue to bring in snacks. And we will always bring in food for my daughter who is vegan and has very very limited food choices inside the park.

I think we are so lucky that Disney allows us to bring in items! We bring juice, water, chips, granola, muffins, apple slices, all kinds of yummy stuff that hold us over throughout the day between meals when we feel like munching on something. Thank you Disney!!

What about drinks for adults, like a bottle (plastic) of Gatorade?

We usually just bring water bottles. I've never tried to bring anything else for adults so I was curious if that was an option for our next trip.

As long it is not an "adult beverage" you will not be turned away for having it.

:rotfl2: I'll have to watch my wording!

What I meant was a larger drink. I'm sure they wouldn't turn away a small child's juice box, but I wasn't sure about larger drink containers.

In the past security has had no problem with my bringing in:
Little baggies with carrots, crackers, pretzels, cereal
a water bottle
juice packets
chocolate (mini bars)
gum
fruit cups (single serving)

Hope this helps!

I hope OP won't mind me asking:
Does the snacks have to be in original individual packages unopened?
or can I put a granola bar into a ziploc?
thanks

does a "lunchable" with the separate crackers, ham, and cheese compartments count as separate fixings that are not allowed, or is the container considered pre-made as one thing that would be allowed?

If you don't take out the individual pieces and stick them in individual baggies (like one for ham, one for cheese, etc) and leave the lunchable as is, I think it should be okay. DBF and I bring pizza into the park. We wrap in saran wrap, and freeze the night before so that way by lunch time we can still have cold pizza (in regards to pizza, IMO, hot>cold>lukewarm, but there's no way to microwave pizza, so cold it is :)). We also bring baby carrots, crackers, and candy for snacking, as well as a water bottle that we refill in the parks.
