Can I take my 8 year old cousin to see "Bruno" ?

Soooo...for those of you who saw the movie, how was it? It looks hilarious from the previews, but was it just as good throughout the entire movie?
I hate when the only funny parts to a movie are what you have already seen in the previews!

HAHA....you are sooooo trying to get a rise out of us all and its working!

Of course you wouldn't take an 8 y.o. to see "Bruno":confused3:scared1:--don't care how much you want to see it, that would be just so wrong.

Oh yeah full frontal male nudity, endless profanity and a whole movie based on adult themes? Definitely something for an 8 year old.

Seriously, I wouldn't take a 14 year old to see it

Let me get this straight - you want an 8 year old to start challenging his parents' politics? And you think you're going to accomplish this by bringing him to a highly offensive movie?

I'm not sure which part is worse, but I'll go with the politics. Trying to encourage a child to challenge his parents' beliefs is extremely inappropriate and one of the most offensive things I've heard in a long time. :scared1:

I was under the impression that anyone under 17 could only see the movie with a parent or guardian. Babysitter doesn't fit the bill as a legal guardian to make these types of decisions. I am not even sure the OP is 17 her/himself.

If you want to take your 8 yr old to the movie fine, I wouldn't but I wouldn't say you shouldn't. However, it is not your child.

As far as challenging his conservative parents, that is a decision he will make when he is old enough. It isn't your place to do it for him. There comes a time in all of our lives when we leave the exclusive influence of our parents and start to form our own political and religious beliefs. Your cousin will eventually reach that age and decide on his own. It sounds like you want to challenge his parents and decided to use your cousin as a pawn in it.

Of course this could have been a troll looking for flaming, so I am going to end by officially calling Shenanigans.

OMG this is a funny way to get at us DIS'ers lol , cannot be a serious question!
popcorn:: :hippie: :thumbsup2

You made the point I was trying to make but much more eloquently, so I'll just say a hearty, I AGREE. :thumbsup2

Thanks. Perhaps it would have sounded a bit better had I not ended with a preposition. It is one of my grammar pet peeves of which I am often guilty. Ugh, oh well, I am from Ohio, that's what we do...at.

Ok you caught me, there is no cousin so no young minds have been corrupted tonight. Come on people this would be just plain wrong to take a kid to this!

:surfweb:...This is a joke of the day thread ...right? popcorn::
You have to be kidding...No No No ...:scared1:

I'm SO far left, I've let my older kids see R rated movies, I've let ds11 see parts of Borat (censored), and NO WAY!
