Can I Survive another 11 days in WDW w/ Disney-Resistant Husband? *11/25 SURPRISE!!**

I love that Coach bag! Very nice. :) Functional, yet still pretty. I also dread shopping for swimsuits. Not a fun chore! I like the one with the swim skirt. I think it looks cute and not matronly like some of those suits can look.

Great shopping results!
Can't wait to see a picture of you guys in your Canada gear at the Canadian pavillion!:thumbsup2
Also, can't wait to see your Roots photo shoot pics. I really want to do a portrait session for Eric & I some time when we are down there. Are they super pricey?

You are so close to "walking right down the middle of Main Street USA"!

Oooo, I wish I could take some of those tomatoes off your hands! Our summer was way too hot and dry, nothing grew around here :sad2:

LOVE your bag!! I look forward to hearing how it works for you. We have a new Coach outlet here, I may just need to pay it a visit before my trip.......

I have purchased my swimsuits from Land's End the last two years and have been very happy with them. And, yes, I have the skirted bottoms, tankini tops too. Given my size I find that they are much more flattering and I feel more comfortable in them, so it's worth it to give up a bit of my 'youth' there :thumbsup2

Yay for another Roots photo shoot! I hope this one goes smoother than the last, but that your photos turn out just as fabulous! :goodvibes

I love pumpkin latte, too! Love it! And fall is OK in my book. Early fall I love. Dark, dreary, rainy fall I hate.

Nice shopping! Love everything I can see here at work! Well done!

A Roots photoshoot - nice! Did I hear they don't live in Orlando anymore or did I imagine that?

No Halloween or Thanksgiving? Do you do them at other times of the year? Hopefully so! ;)

Aussies don't do Halloween nor Thanksgiving. Don't know why...but it's not part of our psyche. We have Football finals to make up for it this time of year and the start of the cricket season.

LOVE the Coach bag. I'd be interested to find out how it worked out for the cameras. I'm sadly one of those people with a black backpack for my camera gear. :sad2:

Swimsuits look great. Bet you look FANTASTIC in them!
And I can't wait to see the Roots shots this year.

Fun shopping! I love Anthropologie, that store is dangerous.

It is lovely to be able to walk around a waterpark and not worry about a coverup, just one less thing to think about and deal with. :thumbsup2

For future reference check out Epiphanie's line of camera bags. They have a facebook site and a web site, should come up if you google it.

"LIBERATING STYLISH WOMEN FROM THE MAN BAG."

They are wonderful wonderful bags! I bought one for the Alaska cruise and I love it so much, I see another one in my future. Wonderful for the camera but also as a bag that you can take to dinner, shopping, whatever!

Ok maybe not with a cocktail dress but just about anything else. :rotfl:

I've used it on 3 trips and it's been outstanding and I've gotten several compliments on it, you'd never know it was a camera bag. I am seriously considering another for a December trip.

So jealous of your tomatoes!

What a great use of a popcorn bucket! Love it! Cute Coach backpack. Looks like you have picked up some great stuff!

Perfect park bag! I have a small Disney Dooney for my evening wear in the parks, it's fun and compact, but during the day a back pack (new Vera every trip) is what a prefer since I can wash them when we get home.

Land's Ends suits really are the best - and you will ROCK THE BIKINI  when you are ready, love it!

LOL at the popcorn bucket, soooo cute!:lmao:

Loved you Roots photos from last time, can't wait to see them again, - keep up the good work packing, it's going to be worth it! Put on the Disney tunes and go for it! :cheer2:

Hugs, Erin

I, too like the Lands End swimsuits. I bought a dotted one that was a tankini top & a skirted bottom. They are comfortable swim suits.

I like your Coach bag, very nice. I decided this year to carry a small zippered id case instead of a bag. It held my license, KTTW & Photopass card. I wore it around my neck on a Vera lanyard. My neck & back get too painful when carrying a purse for very long.

I really like the pictures that you had taken by the Roots last trip. It will be nice to have new pictures this trip.

Great updates and great shopping finds!!

Jasmine and I spent a few bucks in Bath and Body last weekend, I think we now own everything pumpkin that was in the store:lmao:

Jasmine is going to freak when she sees your bag...she is counting down the days until we get our first Coach store here....Lord help me!!

I think it's great you get professional pics done every year of the kids....I did that and continue to do it!

Been reading along and not posted in a looong while. Can't believe you are now a day away!

Hope you all have a great time and get to see and do everything you are hoping for.

Hoping a TR will follow when you get back.;)

My Vote with the Poly for backround is the blue dress for DD and the Orange one for you...then if you can find it a deep blue polo for your son....I think the colors will really pop in pictures!!!

Had my first pumpkin spiced latte in your honor yesterday - I ordered a tall, non-fat and no whip so I probably ruined it, but it was still good (and only 5 weight watchers points!!!)

Hoping for 1 last update, but I can totally understand if you run out of time - have a great evening!;)

It sounds as though you have everything under control. I love the Coach purse. I have the cross body Coach bag that I use on all my Disney trips. It's way to small for all of your camera equipment. I think you made the right decision there.

Now all you have to do is start packing. Oh, and the picture taking at the Poly is going to be great. Can't wait to see those photos.

Everything under control???? Not even close! :rotfl: I am actually sweating bullets over here right now. Everyone is asleep...I just got home...and the panic is setting in. :scared1:

I love that Coach bag! Very nice. :) Functional, yet still pretty. I also dread shopping for swimsuits. Not a fun chore! I like the one with the swim skirt. I think it looks cute and not matronly like some of those suits can look.

Thanks! For the waterparks, I think those skirts will be very practical! ;)

Great shopping results!
Can't wait to see a picture of you guys in your Canada gear at the Canadian pavillion!:thumbsup2

You are so close to "walking right down the middle of Main Street USA".

Thanks Melanie...I will be sure to post our Canadian shirt photos when we return! :)

And thanks for the reminder and the Main Street line....I need a nice little push like that to get me through the drudgery of the next 5 hours.

Oooo, I wish I could take some of those tomatoes off your hands! Our summer was way too hot and dry, nothing grew around here :sad2:

I will definitely let you know how the Coach backpack works out. We have a Coach retail store here, but sadly no outlet. And I don't shop Coach retail!;) I actually purchase all my Coach bags in the US outlet stores, or on eBay. I just missed out on picking up the backpack at either Nordstroms or Macy's (saw it for weeks, just delayed too long and it sold out), but thank god for ebay! ;)

Yes, Mary Ellen. You are quite right...the Roots don't live in Orlando anymore. They are now in Tennessee, although they still travel here all the time for work. Fortunately they are doing some weddings around the time of our shoot, so it worked out great! ;)

Aussies don't do Halloween nor Thanksgiving. Don't know why...but it's not part of our psyche. We have Football finals to make up for it this time of year and the start of the cricket season.

And I can't wait to see the Roots shots this year.

Hey...I am also a back camera bag girl. But I thought this might be a dressier option for the evenings at least. We shall see....

Now Halloween or Thanksgiving - now that is just wrong! You should start an Aussie petition! ;)

Hey Cynthia...I am familiar with the Epiphanie bags. They are great. I actually already have a fairly large brown suede Jill-e bag. They can be so addictive!!!

For Disney though, especially with kids, I didn't want a "handbag" style bag. That is why I went with the backpack. I will let you know how it goes! ;)

What a great use of a popcorn bucket! Love it! Cute Coach backpack. Looks like you have picked up some great stuff!

You wouldn't even believe the many uses our household has made of those popcorn buckets! My favourite use is the traditional one though...every family movie night we pop some corn and all sit down with one! :goodvibes

Perfect park bag! I have a small Disney Dooney for my evening wear in the parks, it's fun and compact, but during the day a back pack (new Vera every trip) is what a prefer since I can wash them when we get home.

Thanks so much Erin! I could really use the hugs right now to get me through the next few hours...

I, too like the Lands End swimsuits. I bought a dotted one that was a tankini top & a skirted bottom. They are comfortable swim suits.

Thanks so much! I wish one day I could downsize to a small little wristlet for the parks. I am just too scared to leave my big camera, lens and video behind!:rotfl:

Queen....Tell Jasmine to skip retail and shop on ebay. I have bought 3 really hard to find Coach bags on ebay and have had great experiences there. Just be sure to shop with a very well established seller! ;)

Been reading along and not posted in a looong while. Can't believe you are now a day away!

Hope you all have a great time and get to see and do everything you are hoping for.

Hoping a TR will follow when you get back.;)

Thanks so much for posting again....it is nice to know who is reading! :goodvibes

And thanks for the vouch of confidence...I have to tackle a million last minute things right now as a matter of fact! :sad2:

My Vote with the Poly for backround is the blue dress for DD and the Orange one for you...then if you can find it a deep blue polo for your son....I think the colors will really pop in pictures!!!

Thank you so much for posting this. I have to figure out wardrobe tonite and I haven't even had time to think about it since I posted those photos. You know what is funny....I posted Katie's dress and my choice of dresses, but hadn't yet got to the part of deciding color-wise what one would work best. You are right - I think the purply-navy of Katie's dress wld go very nicely with the orange. Either that or the fushia. I am leaning against the lavendar. Decisions, decisions.....

Yay! I am so honored! Hope you enjoyed it. And I admire your restraint...that whipped topping tastes soooo good!!!

And We are Off!!!!

I really thought, trip after trip of making the same mistakes over and over again, that I could finally have a dignified and civilized send-off. You know...go for manicures and pedicures and hairstyling the day before the trip, and then out to dinner at the Keg to kick-start the trip like the folks who know how to do it right. Queenie...that is you!!! ;)

Instead, year after year, trip after trip, I am always scrambling last minute like a crazy fool. Completely UN-dignified and completely UN-civilized.:rotfl: Sadly, it's going to be another pre-trip all-nighter for me. :sad2: Channelling my inner Lou *burning the midnite oil* Mongello.

However, before I sign off, I will do a quick run-down of some of the special events I will be taking in (or at least trying to take in):

Oct.1

1. All Ears Meet-Up tomorrow afternoon. (this is a big maybe...we get in around this time to the BCV. SAB may be too fierce a competitor, but hopefully I can still catch up with Deb over the weekend!;))

2. Project XL Meet - Oct.1 for 40th Anniversary at MK

3. MK's 40th Anniversary festivities (Park opening, parade/chavalcade, special ceremony, and merchandise/artist signing)

4. Moms Panel Fan Meet - Epcot.

5. ELP & 40th Anniversary Fireworks - MK

6. Wine & Dine Half Marathon After-party. (Meeting Chris at the finish line)

Oct. 2

7. Foodie Fest

8. Touring Plans Meet Up (this is highly unlikely as we will be switching resorts at this time, and getting ready for event #9 below. But I haven't officially crossed it off the list yet!;))

9. MNSSHP

10. WDW's 40 Hour Live Broadcast (Oct.1-2)

In addition, we are also doing the following:

11. Chris - Surfing Lessons - Typhoon Lagoon

12. Me, Andrea, Katie & Bryn - CAKE BOSS' F&W demonstration

13. Animal Kingdom Youth Education Program

As always, we have a bunch of new and exciting activities planned for the trip. I am so, so excited.....now I just have to go pack for it, and clean up some things at work. Wish me luck!!! I will do my very best to report back afterwards on all of the 40th Anniversary celebrations! I really wish I could have met up with all of you there!!! :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful trip! Sounds like you have a lot of neat stuff planned. I can't wait to hear about Foodie Fest...if we were getting there a few days earlier, we would have loved to go. Have a great time and maybe I'll see you there sometime during our overlapping days!

Give us a shoutout on the other side of the box! Tell Lou thanks for the 2nd place prize in the Disney Classroom Contest. ;)

Have a great time! :cheer2:

Have a great time Trish. We'll be here waiting for the TR when you return. popcorn::

Now Halloween or Thanksgiving - now that is just wrong! You should start an Aussie petition! ;)

Halloween and Thanksgiving will run a very poor 5th and 6th after:
  • School holidays (spring break)
  • Australian Rules Grand Final - all September month long lead-up
  • Royal Melbourne Show - our equivalent of a State Fair but judging from the reaction of the US Dis-sers to my pictures....bigger, with better food.
  • Spring Racing Carnival - we're about the only place I know that has a public holiday (all day!) for the running of a 3 - 4 minute Melbourne Cup horse race.

An Aussie petition for Halloween and Thanksgiving? I'm not sure we could fit those days into the calendar!! :rotfl:
