We are going Sept 5-14th-- but we didn't book our trip yet-- but are for sure going these dates. we are actually holding out to see if by chance they offer free dinning-- but are still going to go regardless-- will Disney let me make ADRS at my 180 days which is soon--- or already here, or will i have to have a actual resorts reservations thanks so much for your help:)

I am pretty sure that you have to have your reservation first as they will ask where you are staying (other Diser's can correct me if I am wrong). I would book it now and then watch for free dining and then call and ask that it be added on for you. We have the free dining from the bounceback program, but our friends are going with us (their first time) and do not have the free dining. They have purchased the dining plan, but the consultant who is handling all of our travel plans will let them know if and when free dining is offered and then adjust their reservation for them to get them the free dining.

You are right KatMark. You will need to book your trip now and call in your ADR and then apply your "free dinning" code once it's announced. As long as you notify Disney 45 days before your check in date you will be refunded in full if you cancel your trip.

thanks so much NC State i see you are going to be there the same dates as me:) I normally go through a TA but i might call disney to see what they have to offer price wise to get my trip locked in thanks so much for the help:)

You do not have to have a resort reservation in order to make your ADRs. They'll ask you where you're staying, but all you have to do is tell them that you haven't booked yet, and they'll attach your ADRs to your phone number.

Anyone can make an ADR at 180 days - people staying offsite, people who live in the Orlando area, etc.

wow thanks so much for letting me know this info too!! Maybe i should just call tomorrow since its my 180 days mark and see what i can do:) I am going to book soon, I am just not sure if free dinning is coming out, and if i needed it added on how difficult it would be to do with a TA, what is everyone experience with going directly through disney? Are the prices better or about the same?

Unless you are going through a AAA agent for an AAA package, the prices should be the same, AND, I don't think that last year AAA let you have their discount AND free dining. So it would be the same price.

The reason I booked my ADRs first is that I waited until Free Dining was announced to make my hotel ressies. But I didn't want to take the chance of missing out on the ADRs I wanted.

Definately make the ones that are most important for you, and you can always attempt to tweak them later. Better safe than sorry! :wizard:

You can make your ADR's without a hotel reservation. You will have to call back each day until all your ADR's are made. If you are not staying onsite, you cannot do the 180 days + 10. So tomorrow you can make your ADR's for your first day. Then you will have to call Sunday to make them for your second day. And so on. Hope this makes sense. Then once you make your reservations for your package, call Disney Dining back and tell them you are on the Dining Plan now.

so i can only make one ressie a day this way? I just need to book my trip to make it easier:) is it really worth calling at the 180 day mark? Do you think most people call at 180 days out ? or do they call closer to there trip. I called in July i think last year for my ressies and got a few good things, and then i keep calling back for times i wanted but did have a hard time getting some things-- looks like it will be a late night for me disney planning and ADR planning:)

It depends where you want to eat. I am going in September, but don't have it booked it. I started making my ADR's. It only takes a few minutes in the morning, but so far, I got all the times I wanted!! Last year, I made them 3 months in advance. I asked for a 6pm, and they told me they only had 4:15. This year, I am getting 6:05's so I am really happy. So for me, it is worth it!!!

you dont have to have your package booked in order to do ADR"s just explain that you havent booked yet they can tie to your phone number.... just remember to cancel if something happens and you dont end up going....

I started booking my ADR's before I had my hotel etc locked in. I wanted to make sure I could get in on certain days before I set my hotel reservations.
