This may be frowned upon, but can I stay parked at the resort after we check out?
We're planning on possibly driving down on Monday night, staying at Portofino (I found a really, really, really good deal), going to IoA Tuesday morning/early afternoon, then moving over to Pop for Tuesday night. If we do this, I'd like to just be able to take the boat back and forth and not have to deal with the garage. Would that be okay?

Also, is it worth it to stay at Portofino for really just an overnight?

Good to know! Thanks! I got a rate of $144/nt which is really too good to pass up! Now hopefully we can get off work early enough to drive down that night!

I booked on that rate 2 times now.

I stayed 5 nights about a week ago and staying next weekend too. The best part about it they still honor my platinum upgrade and credit.

Yep, FL resident pin code. Figures.. I've had Disney APs for 3 years, and have spent probably 50 nights on property over those 3 years, and no PIN codes. I went to Universal in February for the first time in 4 years and bought a PowerPass that hasn't been used since.. and I've gotten 2 pin codes. LOL

Yup, we did this at Cabana Bay (we were headed to RP for a character breakfast) and the desk told us the same thing

This is contrary to info given in The Unofficial Guide to Universal Orlando, which says on Page 75: "The hotels charge for another night starting at 11 a.m., so move your car before checkout time to avoid paying extra." It is possible that there's been a policy change? The UG for Universal came out quite recently.

There is a reason for why it's called "The Unofficial Guide to Universal Orlando".

I can assure that you have until midnight on checkout day. It's part of the express pass perk and to encourage people to visit the parks before leaving. They are not going to make you move your car to the parking garage. Then what happens to your luggage at the hotel that is left with luggage services?

Trust me we triple checked before doing it and were told that it would we would not be charged (and checked the bill and we were not). I echo the previous poster's sentiment. Don't get me wrong, the unofficial guide is great and all, but it's still a guide and it can be inaccurate (trust me I've found myself screaming at their podcast on occasion when they say things I know are wrong). We called the hotel and Loews before hand and were told the same thing, so I don't think it was a one off or pixie dust (or felix felicis more accurately for universal).

Okay, sorry. I guess I should have known better.

Yep, trust me as we are there 1-2 times a month and park our vehicle every time. We go up sometimes Saturday early morning then checkout Sunday morning. After check out go to the parks for the day then return to the resort were staying at, get in our vehicle, swipe room card, and leave.

No problems, just don't want misinformation out there. There is already enough wrong info out there and when people from Disney are trying Universal for the first time it's better to have the right info to make their experience flawless, or try. :thumbsup2

I checked out this morning and went to USF for a while. Got back to the CBBR parking lot after noon and was able to open the parking gate with my room keycard, so that worked out great. I can never get enough of Despicable Me (or Bill Paxton's monotone in Twister, for that matter) and was happy to get a few more rides in before heading out to MCO's rental car return.
