Can I share for a minute?

Rae1063,

May you have a wonderful anniversary trip. My DH and I went to WDW for 8 amazing days for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We called our trip, "Two Big Kids Loose in the World (with no kids)."

The last year has been rough for a variety of reasons and we were SOOOO looking forward to just getting away and forgetting about everything. It had been 12 years since either of us had been to WDW.

I had my picture taken with countless characters (yep, as an adult!), we were selected to ride in a parade, I pin-traded my heart out, we enjoyed a luau, had dinner at the castle, and so many more things that people said (prior to our trip), "But, you are going without any kids..." Yep, we did. Just us - 2 big kids. And we loved every second of it! We have been trying to find a way back since the day we returned.

Funny side note: The day before we got on the plane, the stock market had started to fall a bit (we didn't think much of it). For 8 days we ddidn't open a newspaper or watch the news. We lost ourselves in fun, fantasy, and magic - leaving behind all the real life worries / issues we have been dealing with. When we returned, it was as if the world was a different place. (This was last fall when all the economic issues with Wall Street, auto industry, housing market began.) We were complete oblivious to all of it as we were successfully lost in our own little universe of a much-needed, relaxing, fun wee - just 2 big kids, lost in the fun and magic of Walt Disney World.

May you have a terrific time and enjoy every minute together!

Happy Anniversary,
Dreams

I didn't know that! I just picked up another color sample with my daughter - we taped it to our "Next Disneyland Trip Coffee Can Fund".

I've got to back and get a lime green for our next trip!!! Cool!

The "official" paint chip color is called Alien Green. Thought I would add that in so you aren't standing there at home depot wondering which lime green to get. :goodvibes

Good point!

Today is our 20th anniversary. We will be celebrating it in 2 weeks at DLR without the kids! Some people raise their eyebrows when we say the kids aren't going with us. Especially when we say the boys are going to Canada with Grandma and Grandpa and we are going to Disneyland. They ask shouldn't it be the other way around? :rotfl: If they don't understand, I can't explain it. :confused3

20 years is awesome!

Thanks for sharing! I'm having a rough morning and that story lifted my spirits :goodvibes

Thanks to all of you for your well wishes. We were actually suppose to go last weekend but Lori was sick. Luckily we were able to set it up for this weekend with even some added time and events.

It's so easy to get "lost" in DL and find yourself. Forget about the world for a bit and realize and appreciate all that is going on around you. Last trip I would "get in a hurry" walking behind someone slow, and Lori would gently touch my arm and whisper, remember where we are.....relax. At that point, I would just sit on the curb or chair and sit and watch and think only of pirates, tom sawyer, and look around for cruella. It was then I found myself simply "transported". If we waited for food, or the waiter wasn't up to par, I just smiled and said "it's okay" because it really was.

We have breakfast planned a few dole whips thrown in, some Monte Cristo's from BB, and lots of laughing and I'm sure a few tears. :)

Has anyone done the "walk in Walt's Footsteps tour"? Good, bad?

Thanks again,
Roger
