Can I reassign a Disneyland ticket?

I am very familiar with WDW MDE but first trip in over 10 years to DL and not as fluent on that MDE format. Younger dd has a seasonal job in the area and I overbought on the number of days for our October (drop off/move in) visit as my dd's work plans changed. My older dd and I will visit over Christmas so I can just save my 5-day ticket and purchase a shorter ticket for myself, but can I transfer my dd's ticket to my other dd for our Christmas trip?

TIA !

If you have already used any portion of the ticket, no.

I believe you can reassign unused tickets, but you have to call to get it changed. You cannot do it yourself on the website or app.
I'd call Disneyland Ticket Services at (714) 781-4636.

If you haven’t used the ticket at all it doesn’t matter whose name is on it. You don’t have to do anything.

The tickets are unused, and one is assigned to my younger dd and associated with park reservations in MDE. Maybe I need to cancel the park reservations before I can reassign the ticket? I can't find the tickets on the MDE but I can find the reservations.

You cannot reassign yourself. As previously stated by the above posters already, you have to call if you want to have a name changed on it. You cannot do this yourself through the app. However, again as already stated, the name does not matter on an unused ticket. Person 2 can use person 1's ticket as long as it was never used without having to change it to person 2's name.

That said since the ticket is not being used for the existing reservations, you should cancel the reservations. But this does not change you will need to call if you want a name change.

Also please note DLR does not use MDE. That is a WDW only app. DLR uses the DLR App and things function very differently with it versus MDE when it comes to tickets. It will help with some of the confusion you're having to not think of them as even the same kind of app.

Ok thanks so much! If I have this correct, I need to first get a new ticket for younger dd with the 3 days vs the 5 we have now. Then I can cancel the 2 extra theme park reservations for her and call to get the 5-day ticket assigned to my older dd to use in December.

Or are the theme park reservations assigned to the ticket itself not the guest in which case I would have to cancel all the theme park reservations and make 3 new ones with the new 3-day ticket.

and thanks for your patience :)

You'll have to cancel all the reservation days and make all new ones. They're tied to the ticket, not the account.

You need to:
Buy new ticket (if buying direct from Disney, you will be prompted to make reservations during purchase before it will let you buy)
Cancel reservations for old ticket.
Make reservations for new ticket (only a step if you bought third party).
Make new reservations for old ticket.

However! Unless you are staying on property, you should double check your days are available. I see a lot of October dates are sold out.

And no worries. It's one big reason it's important to get away from some of the WDW language. It just makes it confusing when things operate very differently. It's bad enough they renamed APs to "Magic Keys" out here so "MK" means something vastly different now on the west coast 😂

Thanks so much - your right its very different! With the WDW and MDE app everything is tied to the person, and nothing is actually on the ticket so it's very confusing to re-learn this.

I will go research park availability days and decide if this is worth all the effort for the price difference I may save now.
