Can I Really Keep My Mouth Shut For The Next 6 Months? Update 6/4 Link to TR

:banana::banana: 8 Days Until Disney :banana::banana:

Today I am looking forward to happy children:rotfl:

Right now I am dealing with 2 grumpy children who are not happy with me at the moment. How I wish I could threaten them with canceling the trip. Oh but they don't know about the trip :headache: I guess that's what I get for wanting to surprise them.:lmao:

Ok maybe my kids are not the only grumpy ones in the house tonight:rotfl:

I KNOW! I can't believe she cried either. Then again. She's 13 and hormonal ;) and had her heart set on Six Flags. It didn't take long for her to realize this was so much better!

I can't believe how quickly your day will be here! We are going to Washington DC tomorrow - and I still haven't packed...but I am working on my TR update!

I know what your DD felt like, I remember times when my grandparents would have to force me to go to Florida when I was a teenager. My grandparents raised me and we used to visit relatives in Cocoa Beach for almost a month every summer. As I got older I used to pitch a fit until finally they would leave me with my aunt when they went, in the summer I wanted to work and hang with my friends not visit boring old Florida :rotfl:

What are you going to DC for? I live about 20 minutes outside of the city :)

I think grumpy children and grumpy mommies is the mood for the night! Calgone take me away! Hang in there soon happiness will prevail!

LOL I agree it is so hard to keep up with anything like either of your movie nights though!!!

I told my son about the lego store and he is so excited about it too! So we are taking a 1/2 day there! Oh man only a few more days now!!!

I think both of you guys theme nights are great! Most of my ideas I've gotten over on the family thread so I can't take credit for all of them!

Is your guys a big Lego fan too? Sam loves them but he doesn't love to put them together by himself. So guess what that means? I get to do it ;) Over Christmas break I had the pleasure of putting together all of the Lego sets Sam got for Christmas, he got all of the Harry Potter sets plus a couple of Toy Story sets so it took me a while. He's now asking for the new POTC sets:scared1:

Oh my goodness - when I was a teenager, I never even wanted to be seen with my parents! At least I am not dealing with that. Not yet anyway!

We are going to DC for a sort of homeschool field trip! It's my oldest, me, her friend Claire (she's the one that is coming to Disney with us, too), and Claire's mom. We all homeschool - and we are doing the touristy things - American History museum, Holocaust museum, the memorials, we have White House tickets/passes for Saturday, and three of my grandparents are buried at Arlington so we'll go over there with our drive in pass. Oh, and we are doing the Spy museum, too. It will be an action packed three days! (We drive up tomorrow and drive home on Monday)

Must be something in the air ... because I"m right there with you.

My kids are on a number scale for the week. They get 5 numbers, and if they lose them all, they're in massive trouble (grounded for a week-ish). I wanted to threaten to cancel the trip (but they don't know we're going), and I was ready to have them pull all their numbers. DH said at least 3 numbers ... so they gotta really be good the rest of the week. :headache:

So really think there's something in the air. :lmao:

:lmao:I have to put all of my son's sets together too:rotfl2:Then he leaves them together for a few days and gets bored so he then takes them apart and makes up something on his own- that part is not so funny as it does take a while to put them together!

You guys will have lots of fun! We love the American History museum, that and the Natural History are right beside each other and we do both of them every year. The memorials are beautiful at night, we just did those last summer with my inlaws. I haven't been to the White House since Christian was little, such a cool thing, your girls will love it. The Spy museum is one place we haven't been to yet that we want to do, I think my little guys are a bit young to enjoy it but I think Christian would really enjoy it. Hope you all have a great time! The weather is supposed to be nice, hot but at least no rain!

Tonight Sam and Emily were out of control, kept sneaking outside when I told them theat they were in for the night, needless to say they both went to bed at 7pm. I have been threatening Disney in the car, they know were going this year so when they start fighting in the car, I tell them if they can't make it 20 minutes in the car how are they going to make it 14 hours. That usually gets them calm down.

Oh Sam does that too, and once their taken apart I will not rebuild them ,he's on his own;)

Sneaking out at their age....boy are you in trouble when they are teenagers! :rotfl2: Seriously though, trying to get my boys in bed on a school night when it is so pretty outside is almost impossible...I guess that is a good thing, at least they are not sitting inside watching tv.

I can't even imagine what it's going to be like with 3 teenagers, dealing with one right now is a pain:lmao: I cannot wait for summer, my little ones have to be in bed by 8 every night and your right it is so hard when it's still sunny out and other kids are still out. I have a few lovely neighbors that let their kids run wild so I get alot of "why don't they have to go to bed".

party:party: 7 Days Until Disney party:party:

Today I am looking forward to doing some serious damage to the credit card:rotfl: Ok no really I'm looking forward to the shopping :goodvibes

I don't even have to buy anything, I just love to browse the shops in World Showcase! I also enjoy DTD which I am now happy that we are definately going to. I love the Christmas shop, I always get a new personalized ornament with the year for the ornament plus I get the kids each one. Sam wants to build another light saber at Once Upon a Toy and I'm sure we'll end up with more Mr Potato head parts. I'm bummed that they got rid of the My Little Pony stuff, Emily has just gotten into those recently and I was looking forward to getting her some.

On a non Disney note.... I would just like to say how happy I am that it's Lauren and Scotty in the American Idol finale. :cool1: Hailey wasn't bad but there was just something about her attitude that I did not like. I hope Scotty wins but I really will be happy either way because I like both him and Lauren. Next Wednesday will be interesting because it's finale night and my MIL will be here because of course we leave for WDW the next day. Well my MIL was a big James fan and we had some pretty heated discussions and emails over who was better him or Scotty, lets just say my MIL is VERY opinionated and I finally told her that I didn't think we should talk Idol anymore, :rotfl: So we haven't discussed it in 2 weeks, even when James got voted off last week. I don't know what the heck we are going to do next week:lmao:

So it's after midnight and I am doing some late night packing (the only time I can do it without the kids) and I'm sitting here wondering something. How the heck do you guys fly down to WDW? I have so much crap that I am bringing with us that there is no way I could do it, lol:scared1: I know that I am an overpacker, I like to TRY to plan everyone's outfits ahead of time and we all have new clothes for the trip. Please someone tell me that this is normal, this is what I'm cramming into our SUV.

-1 large suitcase
-1 smaller suitcase
-1 somewhat large LL Bean backpack with clothes for first night in case we don't make it all of the way and need to stop for the night
- Reusable bag from Disney Store with pool stuff (towels, goggles, sunscreen)
- Backpack I'll be bringing to the parks
- Reusable bag from Disney Store with everyone's extra shoes
- Large reusable bag from DS with state line goodie bags (this will be empty once we get to FL)
- 3 resuable bags from DS for kids to put their goodies in (these they'll keep at their feet)
- small cooler with juice boxes and waters
- medium size LL Bean backpack cooler for snacks

Also DS Christian will be bringing a large suitcase with him on the plane

I THINK that may be it :rotfl: with the exception of breakfast foods/snacks. Again I think I probably have too much, I do know we ended having leftovers on our last trip. This is what I've got ordered at Sam's Club for DH to pick up

2 cases of water
case of juice boxes
box of 15 individually wrapped muffins
box of 12 individually wrapped packages of donuts
box of 32 Gogurts
box of 18 Uncrustable PB&J's
Box of 30 bags of chips

I have some individual package pretzels and tomorrow I'm going to pick up some granola bars and pop tarts. To save time we always eat in the room or bring breakfast with us so I know alot will get eaten. Plus I think I have finally convinced DH to take a couple of midday breaks so the kids will probably grab a snack while in the room then too. So does all of this sound crazy? Am I going to be riding 14 hours with a case of water on my lap?:rotfl:

BTW, does anyone think of random things while going about your day? I saw a sharpie commercial today and thought crap, I forgot to get the clickable sharpies for the autograph books, lol. One more thing to add to the list. I swear as we get closer to the trip my mind is constantly racing!

Looking forward to the shopping! I can relate to this one! Love strolling DTD.

Packing is so much fun, every room i go in I see something else I think we might need and have to find room for!

You sound completely like me. :lmao:

I can't see how people fly either.

Here's what we have, if it makes you feel any better:
1 large suitcase (DH)
1 large suitcase (me)
1 carryon size suitcase (DD)
1 duffel bag (smallish - DS)
1 large bag with swimsuits/towels/sunblock
1 medium bag with shared activities
2 small bags (one for each kid with personal activities)
1 small bag (for me that has maps, Birnbaum guides, resort info, and Mickey Mail)
1 large laptop bag (with my laptop)
1 small shoulder bag that has random items (First Aid, toiletry, TENS unit, sunblock, etc)
1 small bag that contains DVD player and dual screens
1 box of food stuffs (poptarts, cereal bars, flavor packs for water, etc)
1 24 pack of bottled water

So looking at mine and then at yours, I think you did great! :thumbsup2

And I totally think of random things throughout the day. I see commercials and it jogs my memory of things I need to get or pack. I think its normal. At least, that's what I tell myself. :rotfl2:

Glad to see that there are others like me:goodvibes

Lidian your list has got me thinking of more stuff I need to bring:rotfl: Now I must add laptop bag, toiletry bag and bag with my car entertainment (magazines, planing binder etc) to the list!

I got the rest of the snacks and a few other things that we needed at Walmart today but guess what I forgot? Sharpies of course:lmao:

Oh Sam does that too, and once their taken apart I will not rebuild them ,he's on his own;)
Yep I won't rebuild them either- honestly with the teeny tiny pieces I don't think that I'd be able to!

I can't even imagine what it's going to be like with 3 teenagers, dealing with one right now is a pain:lmao: I cannot wait for summer, my little ones have to be in bed by 8 every night and your right it is so hard when it's still sunny out and other kids are still out. My son's in bed by 7:30-8pm and it is hard when he hears the kids around us playing outside or we have to leave something early because of bed times and everyone else is staying.... but at least I know that he's not lacking sleep! And hopefully it sets him up for later in life!

By the way, the packing.... that's about what my list looks like and I'm not even at the 6 month mark yet---- I found this thread "What is your unusual item to bring" and I've learned a lot. I know that you are trying to take away, but someone mentioned the lids of Chinese food containers with an X cut in the middle. They said that it worked great for the Mickey bars- you put the stick in the X and it prevents the melting from making too much of a mess. Have fun packing! My packing is so far away:sad2:!

Maybe tomorrow you can get the sharpies. :thumbsup2:rotfl:
