I still haven't been able to get a card with a "Y" on MDE. However, I can go to the member's website and they offer me a digital version of my membership card. There's no "Y", but at least the card's blue (although, come to think of it, we don't have a color printer so it won't print out blue). Last time (in May) we had that, and every time the discount came up, the CM accepted the digital copy from the website, as long as we were within the 30 day expiration date on the card. If that continues, couldn't we just print out a digital card the day before every trip, just like printing out a boarding pass just before a trip.

They have been saying since at least last December that the option to print out the digital card is temporary, so that plan will work for now, but who knows for how long.

You can but I have to say I have been denied the use of that when I was trying to see what would happen during my January and February trips

Many CMs wanted the new digital pass with the DVC Y. What I did find is that not every place needed to see my ID when I showed it on my watch.

As time goes on and they are aware that people have gotten it fixed, we have been told it will become stricter and, as mentioned those digital cards will go away

Have you called MDE tech support to see if they can help? Or DVC IT..if there is one?

If you don't have a color printer, you can go to the DVC website on your phone, pull up the temporary ID card, and then do a screenshot of the card, which will get saved in your phone's camera roll.

I'm not saying castmembers will accept it, but if you want to try without being able to print it out, you could do this.

Officially the temporary card from the website should still be valid. But Disney seems to be training more and more CMs to look for the digital wallet card.

My advice would be to invest a little time in getting the digital version working for yourself. Once it's set up, it's done. In theory, you'll never have to worry about it again. There are a number of people here familiar with tech problems with that card who can probably help you troubleshoot.

Getting CMs to accept the temporary digital version could prove to be even more of a headache than getting the wallet version installed.

I had a most difficult time getting the digital card loaded to my DME but I was talked thru it step by step my DVC IT.

I have to say during my June trip I was asked for my digital phone card more and more. Both at stores and dining. I do have my AP too, so used that when I didn’t want to bother with my phone.

The CMs always accepted it in May, a few CMs didn't even want to see anything-I guess I looked trustworthy. Screen shot-that's what I'll go with, thanks!

What are the options if you don't have a smart phone? Will a MagicBand work?

You were lucky. Creations would not take it for me in May, I only did it to see if they would because they wouldn’t in March either.

It’s so easy to just show the correct thing for me being on phone and watch that my days of experiments are over.

My daughter still can’t figure hers out. Us old folks got ours done in minutes, even my 70+ husband. My daughter created hers and sent it but it didn’t go in her wallet And she uses her wallet for many things. She can’t make a new one because she has one, but can’t find it. She‘s much more tech savvy than I, but is stumped.

printing a card or a screenshot is just a bandaid. Eventually it will be required from all. I just Don’t know what dvc will do for folks with no smartphone.

There isn’t one. They have updated the terms to say you need the digital pass to be eligible for discounts.

WOW, how cheap can they be. I would guess that the old blue member card cost all of $1.00.

And, statistically, 88% of all Americans have a smart phone, and around 70% of Americans over 70 years old have one too. Surprisingly (?) younger seniors do not trail the general population by very much. The 50-64 demographic is around 85% + as well, if memory serves me.

Keep in mind, that 70% includes ALL people over 65, so those closer to the 65-75 range will be higher than those in the 75- range.

So I’ve been a resale member and had my digital card loaded. We just bought direct for our blue card and I can’t seem to make mine work with the Y. I’ve deleted my phone number from MDE and reloaded the card into my wallet and still says ND. What is the number I need to call for help? Or does anyone have any other ideas to make it work?

Did you buy at least 150 points direct? If not, you will not qualify.

DVC is not very quick at updating things, hang in there it should show up soon.
