Well I would love to have a very small wedding...right now I am thinking Sea Breeze Point but where I would really love to have it is on the beach in between the wedding pavilion and the GF. I found a pic once and it was soo pretty. I am not sure they even do that anymore, plus it would probably have to be Wishes.
Congrats btw...can't wait to hear about the engagement when it happens. Has he hinted at all to when?
Well, a month ago, he said two different months; December of this year and June of next. I think he's trying to leave me a false trail though, so I don't think it's either of those. I'm hoping before the end of this year though, so I have a year to plan!
The best part about my BF is that he wants a DFTW just as much as I do! So I don't have to convince him. I just have to worry about the rest of my family, lol. That part will be difficult because I come from an Old-Fashioned Italian-Irish Catholic family. And technically, we are suppose to get married in the church, BUT (and this is my loophole) my DBF isn't Catholic, so it can't really be done (I know it can if he commits to converting but SHHH, my family doesn't know that!)
I started hinting now to my mom and dad that I am going to have my wedding at Disney, and that it wouldn't be 100,000 (which is what they thought it would be) so, I think it'll be less of a blow to them. They actually said they won't go over 20k, so I think I'm good![]()
Lol I can totally relate...my exhusbands family was Catholic...to the T! They refused to let us have a Disney wedding and while I didn't have to convert I did have to agree to raise our children catholic and go to pre-cana classes. Right now he is trying to get an anulment so he can get married againCatholicism confuses me! I was always made I settled and didn't go through with a Disney wedding (although his family wouldn't have gone). I have heard some priests will "bless" the marriage when you get back though...
Well, you see. I'm not as catholic as my family. I don't even go to church anymore, because I just didn't agree with some of the teachings. My parents were really upset about it at first (and probably still are, but more quiet about it). I'll go to mass on holidays and my grandfather's mass once a year, but that's really to keep the peace in my family just a tad.
I thought you had to convert? I guess it depends on the diocese?
And don't worry, Catholicism confuses me sometimes too, and I was born into it!
My view of the Disney Wedding: Only the people who WANT to be there will come, and the ones who go to a wedding for the sake of "family commitment" and don't really want to be there, well I'm giving them excuse not to go, and I save money on food! I know my state of mind will change when most of my family says no, but I'm content with my theory now. I know people are going to try to push into it, but I simply won't let them.
My famous cop out, "are you offering to pay for my wedding? If not, put a lid on it, because you're opinion doesn't matter" Another thing that might go to the dogs when the time comes >_<
