Can I pencil you guys in for a DisneyLAND swap this fall?

I would love a DL swap! I'm there a lot more than the World. Please add me to the interested parties list!

Okay, I've been thinking about this, and looking back on the past swap sign up, I thought we might make the groups smaller by eliminating the shaker boxes and paper piecings (usually the last to go!).

I am thinking of doing 2 groups of 8, and two teams - one with the Lands as a theme (i.e. Toontown, Condor Flats, Downtown Disney, etc), and one that is ride specific (especially if exclusive to DL, like Matterhorn, Gadget's Go-Coaster, etc).

I will set up sign ups in August... but start thinking of ideas now and if you have any more suggestions, keep 'em coming!

I'd love to join in Im having so much fun learning to scrap!

Okay, I'm going to start taking signups for this next Monday the 1st, with a deadline of October 1st. The groups will be small so 2 months should be enough time. (Keep an eye out -- I'll start a new thread for signups!)

The page elements are:

~1 Topper 8.5 inches (no handwriting please)
~2 Borders (11 inches in length )
~1 Journalling Element – EITHER 2 journalling boxes (double matted), at least a 2x2 writing area -OR - 1 library pocket and tag - OR -1 mini file folder
~4 Embellished squares (double matted) 4 per person
~1 Matted Poem or song Lyric (double matted/embellished) at least 4x4 space (no handwriting please) - OR - 1 shaker box - OR - 1 paper piecing
~2 Frames (embellished)
~2 Photo Mats (double matted/embellished) 2 per person
~2 Tags (double matted) 2 per person must include either fibers or eyelets in the holes

You will create 8 elements for group A and 8 elements for group B.

There will be 2 teams - one for "Lands" and one for "Rides" (I will create another team if there is further interest).

**I was also wondering if there was any interest in a "shopping only" embellishment swap -- such as Mickey eyelets, Mickey swirl paper clips, castle charms, Mickey red ribbon, Minnie pink ribbon, Buzz green ribbon, and fibers ,etc. Stuff to match our pages.... what do you think?

It sounds like so much fun! Count me in, please!
But I may need some guidance since this will only be my 2nd swap. Are we making each element x 8?
I'm so excited! :jumping1:

Yes you would pick one element from A and one element from B, and make 8 of each element pertaining to your theme selection... i.e. embellished squares and a page topper for "Toontown".

I would love to join, but I'm not sure I even have pix of our DL trip. We went to DL when my kids were about 3 yrs. old, and now they're 17! I found the ticket stubs a while back, but I can't remember for sure if I took pix or not. Bad mommy, I am.

I think it would be great if there was a fiber or "shopping" group included. I would love to sign up for an embellishment option to be included but I just don't have much time to make pieces. I would be willing to do the shopping for both groups even if that would work. I could easily do a fiber and eyelet or clip, etc.

More feedback please!! Do you guys want storebought embellies as a separate group or should I add fibers/eyelets as a substitute element for one of those 8 categories?

I have never participated in a swap before and am very interested, since we went to DL last year for my husband's 50th birthday. I bought a special scrapbook and a bunch of stuff out there, but I could always use more and I LOVE seeing other people's work!

However, I am not sure I fully understand the "rules". I *think* I got the 8 elements and it sounds like you are putting together an 8-1/2x11 page, right? When you say "topper", you mean like a title? A border for across the top? What is the finished size of the embellished squares? Same question for the 2 photo mats and the frames. Are we talking slide mount size or something like 5x7? Also, I understand the difference between the 2 teams--Lands and Rides. But what are Group A and Group B? Lastly, say I sign up for Tags--I'm making a total of 32 tags? 8 sets of 2 for Group A and 8 sets of 2 for Group B?

Sorry to be so anal, but I want to make sure that I do it right and don't send something that won't work! Also, do we have any color limitations?

Oh, and I will cast my vote FOR a fiber or "storebought" embellishment. Great idea--especially for someone who is caught in a time crunch! I can soo relate!
