I am thinking of trying to build our own in room celebration. I know it wont be as good as if i were to spend the cash to stay at a dlh and pay the huge prices.

I just cant justify the 720 extra for 2 room dlh and in room celebration lol. (yet)

So the question is can you order mickey rice crispy treats and mickey cookies from any where to be delivered to a gn hotel?
If not can you order them from World of Disney?

If not how have some of you made your own baskets or in room celebration work?

They don't have delivery, but you can pick them up from Marceline's. They usually have a large selection of goodies. You could also look at some of the local places that do something similar. Some friends got together and made us a "basket" from Mouseshoppe.com and had it delivered. It was GREAT! We've only done the welcome once. It was great, loved seeing the looks on my granddaughter's face. But I don't think it is something I would do often. When my nephew was making his first trip, I got the key to my brother's room early, and decked it out with balloons and a a few items I thought he'd like and it was great. (We were at the carousel that trip.)

Thank you. I found some where I can order cookies and rice crispy treats. Not sure how fresh they would be so I may need to go with Marcelines. Is there a website to look at what they have and they are in dtd right, where at?

Your welcome. There are quite a few YouTube videos too showing Marceline's Confectionery. Just do a search, and several will pop up.

Here are a couple of fun videos:

I did our own in room celebration when we went as we weren't staying on-site. I checked into and set up the rooms while my Mum kept the 2 girls at the park.

I managed to find boxes at our local dollar store that were black with a red and white polka dot lid, and I filled them with a personalized autograph book (thank you Creative DISigns thread!), a princess book, and a rosette purse with their spending money for the trip. I had also bought them a doll each which I wrapped in red & white polka dot paper too. I was going to buy them a balloon each and put that in the room as well, but when I was leaving the park the balloon vendor was nowhere to be found! I also had some name signs and things made (again thanks to the DISigns talented folk! ) that I stuck up around the room.

The girls loved it and it was definitely the next best thing! We were coming from NZ so couldn't carry much with us, so had a few of the bits sent to the hotel from online stores.

I usually do my own. I buy stuff from disney.com when its on sale. Then once we get into our room..I will have hubby take the kids and run down to the lobby for something. while they are gone I quickly set it up then go meet them downstairs. When we come back the kids think Mickey left us presents.
