Can I make it?

I've been searching high and low for a Chef Mickey's. Found one at 10:20 on arrival morning. Flight lands at 8:30. I'm staying at GF on the dining plan. Do you think I can make it? Will I have to check in for dining plan to be activated? TIA

I would give you a 30% probability of making it if your plane arrives on time and you use Magical Express.

(About 25% of flights nationwide arrive more than 15 minutes late.)

Doubtful. Even if you are first off the plane, get right on an ME that is ready to go, that doesn't mean they will drop off at GF first.

What if OP is willing to:
  • Let ME handle any checked bags,
  • Pay for a taxi from MCO to GF,
  • Use online check-in to minimize time at GF, and
  • Go directly from GF to CR without going to room?

Still way less than a 50% chance. Even if the plane lands on time, they probably won't get off the plane until 8:45, then they would have to literally run through the airport, pay $60 or so for a cab and would still likely miss it and have to pay the $10 per person no-show fee.

In my opinion, there isn't a restaurant on earth that is worth the amount of stress that this would cause. Chef Mickey's is pretty much universally considered to be one of the worst restaurants on property and is definitely not worth it.

Thanks all. My plan was to get off ME and immediately hop the monorail to CR. I've already checked in online. After reading your comments, I agree it would be too stressful. Going to cancel and keep checking.

Personally, I would never let ME handle my luggage if I were not actually riding the ME bus. If luggage gets misdirected and you haven't checked in with ME, it could be a huge headache, not to mention time-waster, trying to track down and actually obtain one's bags.
