We are going on our 1st trip 2/28-3/07. The March calendar is not up yet. I looked at last week of Feb. and they only have Spectro a couple of times that week. So on 2-28 I have ressies at CM for 5 pm can we make it to spectro at 7pm. It is on the calendar that night. I don't want to miss it and we have to make CRT ressies without knowing if spectro is showing that day. so about how long will a 5pm ressie take at CM to see all the characters. :hourglass

Thanks so much

I think you can make it to Spectro on time. All the characters should make it by your table in plenty of time to get to the Magic Kingdom. Even taking it slowly you should be done in a little over an hour, one and half at the most.

Thanks so much. What is the fastes way to MK from. Contemporary monorail or just walk.

I think you'll be more tight than you think. I do think that you can certainly eat and be to the MK in time (I'd walk), but being at the MK doesn't ensure that you'll get to see Spectro and arriving just before one of few parades for the week will be a zoo.

So yes, I think you'll be there, but I also think you'll have a problem finding a seat to see it so close to parade time.

Okay lets plan on calling it close. Where should we plan on viewing the parade. Closest place to the gates but still able to see the parade. And 2nd choice if we do have a few extra min. The best place to see the parade.

Thanks for everyones help.:thumbsup2

Sometimes you can find a spot by the flagpole quite late. Generally the streets around the entrance are filled up about 1-2 hours before parade time.

I am not sure if you can stand by Main St Station and watch?

Last October, after dinner at Kona, we had a little time to spare before Spectromagic, and we discovered that the curb area that is right by City Hall (and the nearby restrooms) is a great place to view the parade. Granted, you'll be standing, but we had a pretty decent view.

Of course, we might have just lucked out, but you might want to try there, as that's where the parade starts before it winds its way around Town Square to Main Street.

I agree that the time may be tighter than you think. With a 5pm reservation you should be seated fairly quickly. However, it'll probably be 5:15 by the time you are seated and have your drinks. You are spending a fair amount of money on dinnder, so you rather not have to rush through. Even if you rush, you'll spend at least an hour. By the time you pay and get out it'll probably be going on 6:30. You'd do best to walk to the MK. The monorail is nice, but it can be time consuming (yes, it can take up to 30 minutes to get to the monorail, wait for the next one, make the stops at TTC, Poly and GF, and get to the MK), so I'd recommend the 10 minute walk. With that, by the time they check your bags and you get into the MK it's going to be 6:45, if not later. You'll be coming onto Main St. 10 minutes before parade time, and if it's only offered a few nights it's likely to be crowded. My recommendation for a spot is by the Barber Shop and Car Barn (across the street where the parade exits/enters by the Fire House). You can usually get a decent spot here shortly before the parade starts.

So, can you do it? Yes. But you will likely be rushing and may not get a good spot to view the parade. If you can't make arrangements to see it another time it's worth the effort.

Thanks we are hoping the March calendar comes out with more dates the 1st week of March. we will give it a try if it is our only option. I am going to have to stufythe map to figure out where the firehouse is.

That is our secret spot to view spectro!!

I think that is close and you'll be rushed at CM's. It can take me 90 mins to eat at a buffet even w/o 5 characters to visit with or a make your own sundae bar. :rotfl: CM's is now $30 per adult, I don't want to rush that meal. :rotfl2: You're also assuming you get seated at 5pm. From what I read at the time of day it wouldn't be unheard of to get seated after your ADR time. If you can move the meal I think you'll enjoy it more. It does only take about 10 mins to get to MK from the Contemporary by foot, but it will also take time to get through security at a time with lots of others have the same idea. This is vacation right? See what you can do to alleviate some stress.

I am a big fan of CM's so I definitely say keep an ADR there, but I wouldn't want to miss Spectro. Unfortunately Spectro isn't like the AK parade where you get see it twice as it makes its loop through the park. For my money is also the most magical parade, it sings "Disney" to me.

: Yall are helping me so much. I might see about moving our ressie to 4:30 that way we would be eating by 5 and would put us at the park 30 min earlier. Do you folks think that would help. I will definetly keep the option open of Spectro on another night if possible. But gonna have a plan if not. So what I have figured out. We will only be at MK a few hours so we really should be able to make it without a bag. Make sure we know how to get to that perfect viewing spot without reading a map. :magnify: And most importantly since this is our arrival day make sure the rest of the trip is more relaxing.

:thanks: :disrocks:
