Hi everyone
I am not new to the dis but I havent been around in a loong time.
So I feel as if I am new again.so many new people in the past few years!!

My story is simple, years and years of fluffernutters (hence my screen name):teeth: and never saying no to candy brought me up to an all time high weight. In the past year and a half I have managed to lose 77 pounds by saying no to candy, and adding more fruits and veggies to my menus. I still have a good 50 pounds to lose and I am at a standstill. I recently had gallbladder surgery with complications and am on all kinds of medicine now. I guess my metabolism is just stuck right now and trying to recouperate from all the surgeries etc.

So I am needing support to keep me strong and sane while I dont see the changes on the scale. I am hoping eventually my body will just kick it up a notch and start losing again but in the meantime, I would love to join you all here and share encouragement, ideas and recipes with you all.

77 pounds on your own??? WOW!!! You're already a success!!

Welcome to WISH! The more, the merrier!!

Hi Marcy!

It's nice to meet you! Welcome to WISH. Boy have you come to the right place for inspiration and encouragement. I had gall bladder surgery a couple of years ago but I didn't have any complications with it. I'm sorry you had problems behind your surgery. You have a great attitude though and I'm sure you'll be losing again in no time.

Congratulations on the 77 pounds you have lost on your own!!! That is just awesome.

Maybe you might want to consider joining the Mother's Day challenge with some of us. It's a fun way to stay motivated and get extra support. You don't have to set a big goal and the challenge is 5 weeks long. Maybe just 5 pounds could be your goal. If you are interested, just look for the Mother's Day thread and sign up.

I look forward to getting to know you and exchanging encouragement! :)

Welcome, Marcy! I'm so glad you're joining us on WISH! You have done so well--losing 77 pounds on your own!! Your metabolism will get back to normal soon and those next 50 pounds will be history!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I just wanted to thank all of you for the warm welcome.
I am so inspired by all of your weight loss success stories as well.

It hasnt been easy taking off all these pounds but I am so much happier that I did. I do see that it is a lifetime change -because I still get those cravings for those sugary snacks. And it doesnt help that my business deals around working with candy all day long, lol
talk about having to have willpower!!!
actually working with the candy in my home isnt as bad as seeing those marshmallow easter peeps -man I love those.

I found to ease my cravings for them by just freezing regular marshmallows and having a few ,they are chewy and take longer to eat than those overly-sugary peeps.

One other thing that I found helpful this week was to keep a log of what I have been eating and I surprised myself at how much ketchup I eat. I never realized it until last night when I saw the big bottle was almost empty and we just bought it Sunday and I am the only one who uses it!
I think maybe that could be stalling my weight loss because of the sodium, so I am going to cut back this week and see if it makes a difference.

Do you have a place where there are before and (on the way/after photos), because I would love to take a look and include mine as well.

thanks again for welcoming me and I look forward to getting to know all of you better

WELCOME!!!

yes, we have a WISH family photo album stuck to the top of our board, do add your picture, we are all very nosy by nature!

Your recent weight loss is awesome, to have accomplished that without a "support system" of other folks journeying down the same healthy eating path. cyber high-five!

you have come to the right place for motivation, inspiration, ideas, accountability, and encouragment. WISH is what helped me finally take off that pregnancy weight, six years after my youngest was born!

With the surgery and stress, you didn't GAIN! What a positive thing! GOod for you!

There you are! I'm so glad you decided to join us. We've been saving you a place :)

Would you do me a favor and post to our WISH Challenge thread too? I use this thread to compose our member roster and if you don't post there I might leave you out. I would hate for that to happen.

You will find the challenge thread right HERE

We're all going to help you on that road to goal and you're going to do great. Just you wait and see :)
