Can I have a moment to cry?

Ok, I've actually been doing that most of the morning. We were all suppose to leave this morning for our WDW trip. DS (5 mo) has been having some allergy problems. Last night he got worse. Very fussy, trouble breathing, nasty little cough. So, this morning I put DH and DS (2 yrs) in the car to go to the airport while my other DS and I stayed behind. This was going to be my first stay at BCV (first time at BC & first time trying DVC on rented points). All of DH's family will be there, too. It's been killing me to think of all the things they're doing and will be doing without us. I have a very small hope that DS will get better and maybe we can catch a flight out there tomorrow or Tuesday, but I don't know how realistic that is.

DEEP BREATH.

Ok. Pity party is over. No more crying. On to being a mommy who just wants her little boy to get better now! Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm so sorry! You have every right to feel disappointed and to cry! :( Allow yourself to feel upset and disappointed..

I'm so, so sorry! Hopefully, if you can't go, you can throw yourself into planning the next trip. Definitely talk to your DH about your disappointment and see if you can get there again in a few months to a year.

Aww sweetie I am so sorry! You are doing the right thing. I hope he gets better soon so you will be able to go too. :wizard:

:grouphug: So sorry to hear this! We went to Disney 2 years ago and my then 1yo was very sick by the time we got there! Her cough was so bad I had to call my pedi and get them to get me some meds in Orlando! I prayed all night, and the next day, our first day in the parks, she was sooooo much better! We had a great trip! I will pray for your son and maybe you will have the same thing happen! Good luck!

I ma so sorry you little one is sick. Think positive thoughts and know you are a great mother and did the right thing. My DD ( now 5) had a lot of allergy issues when she was that small, has the doctor prescribed anything. I can't remember what my doctor had my DD on but it worked wonderfully. Try and call your doctor and get some meds and maybe you can join the trip late.

So sorry to hear that your little guy is sick and you are missing your family trip! You are such a good mommy to have kept him home though. Most would most likely go anyway. I applaud your decision and because you stayed home with him he will most likely be more comfortable and get better sooner:) I hope you can join them in Disney soon! If not I would talk DH into going again with your family if possible since you missed this trip. Oh the sacrifices us moms make for our kids!

You're being a good mother. And just think about all the hassling you can give your son in the years to come. Look at all the opportunities to say: "Hey, if I had to miss a TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD because of you, the least you can do is...." for the next 18 years!!

OMG, I'm tearing up FOR you! You poor sweetie. That would devestate me, too. I SOOOOO hope that your little man is on the mend tomorrow and that you can catch a flight and catch up with the rest of your family!

Is there anything he can take at that age for the allergies? My first "go to" with breathing stuff is to turn on the hot shower, shut the bathroom door, and read a few books while marinating in the steam.

Sending pixie dust to you!

Cry all you need to, that stinks! You are a great mom, you often see sick kids places and think why did their parents bring them out. I am sure it is an awful feeling but he is best taking it easy with you. I hope he gets better and you get to go, if not, you will at least always know you are a great mommy...

First off I want to cry for you, Second I want to cry because you are such a awesome Mom and third because your husband had to travel alone with a two year old. Many hugs love and prayers for your 5mo son.

When my DD13 was 5 months old, we had to postpone a trip to WDW because she was having trouble breathing, too. It was a good thing we did; we were in and out of the ER for a couple weeks. We ended up taking the trip when she was 8 months old....with meds and nebulizer!

You really did the right thing - you don't want to be far from home with a sick baby. While he's sleeping tonight, I want you to go back on line and plan your NEXT WDW trip! :surfweb:

*huge hugs* I hope your little one makes a very quick recovery and you get to join your family! If not, treasure this one-on-one time with him. I'm sorry you're so bummed. I would cry too. :-(

Thanks for all the kind words. DS had a rough day, but is doing much better and sleeping soundly tonight. So, I'm going to take the opportunity to get some rest, too. Maybe - just maybe - this will hold out and we'll still get to go. We'll see what the pedi says tomorrow.....

So glad to hear he is doing better. Good Luck, I hope the peditrician has good news for you today!
