I love Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. And I like Space Mountain and Splash (although I'm always nervous standing in line waiting for my first ride on them each trip). I rode Expedition Everest, but I was really not liking the look of the BIG climb since I'm not a fan of heights. I LOVE DINOSAUR at AK!!!!

So....can I handle The Mummy?

Thanks,
Erin

I think you'd be fine. The special effects are incredible on this ride!
It does have a few fast drops, but it's all in the dark so you don't see them coming

I say try it, and ride it a few times for me ;)

Ride it just onetime and I promise you will think its the best coaster/darkride going!!!:thumbsup2

It was similar to SM to me, except you kind of get launched into the roller coaster part. There is a really neat part before the coaster part. None of the drops were "stomach into your head" type drops. I came on here last year and people convinced me to try it(I am a coaster chicken) and there were right. I liked it. Twice a trip is my limit, but I do enjoy it.

I have been scared of rollercoasters for 3/4 of my life (still won't ride some coasters) and I loved this ride; it was on of the best rides I have been on. Please do ride this! There were one or two "hairy" situations.

LOL my 8 year old is a rollercoaster lover, but she's scared of the mummy because of the nightmarish images. She said she would go on but closing her eyes when the mummy comes out.

I HATE coasters. I especially HATE coasters in the dark. I went to Universal a few years ago with my friends and didn't realize that Mummy was just the thing I hated until I was actually at the front of the line, looking at the ride vehicle and was like "....oh no."

But in the end, even I who hates dark coasters LOVED it. Went on it twice before the end of the day. Minus that ONE drop in the dark that you can't see coming that kinda jostles you a bit, it's really not bad. And you can't even see the drop coming so it's more of an after thought then anything esle.

Yeah! Cool :cool1:! I will definitely ride it! Eleven months to go- Ugh! I can hardly wait!

Erin, As an avid fan of this attraction you should be fine, there is maybe at least two big drops which are quite steady in my opinion but this ride isint just for the rollercoaster its also like someone posted in the thread it is for the speical effects aswell. So Erin I think you should be fine

It's just barely a rollercoaster, IMO. The rollercoaster elements come in spurts, too. So you have a few seconds of coastering and some time off, etc. It's like a fast ride on tracks. I'm a big fan of the massive coasters, so this one doesn't even come close. But it is extremely cool!

I will say that the dark roller coaster portion gives you the impression that you're really going fast but it's short and relies heavily on special effects. I don't ride Hulk but I just adore the Mummy!

According to Universal, the ride goes 45mph at points. I think the thing that makes it more intense for some is the launch. I don't know how much "g-force" is involved, but it is enough to make me feel dizzy when I get off. I had brain surgery 7 years ago, and g-forces can get to me though.

I have to admitt I am a coaster chicken but love the mummy and its just not the same if I don't get to ride it a few times while at Universal
I think you will be fine :thumbsup2
