Can I handle it?

I skip out on the thrill rides these days. I am wondering about the SevenD.M.Ride. I do brave the drop on Splash mountain but skip Big Thunder and Space Mountain (though have done in past). Even Barnstormer is a bit much!

How does SDMR compare?

SDMT is pretty smooth unlike BTMRR which is more bumpy at least IMO. If Barnstormer is a problem, SDMT may be a problem too

You will probably like it. My DH doesn't do thrill rides (he won't even do Splash) and he liked 7 Dwarves.

I don't like roller coasters. At all. Thunder Mountain is pretty rough- but I will ride it once per trip for my 9 yr old and my DH. Barn Stormer was SCARY to me. But seven dwarfs? I really liked it. Much smoother- and though you go up inclines- you can see whats coming (not big drops) which makes it easier. Its over fast- and FUN! In fact, I rode it twice this past trip.

7 Dwarfs mine train is a very smooth ride, but I would consider it to be similar to Big Thunder Mountain, but smoother. I can't imagine anyone getting sick on it, but that's just me.

I'm so glad that someone else agrees with me that Barnstormer is sometimes a little much. My recommendation is "if in doubt-don't" There are too many fun things at WDW to waste your time feeling sick. I went on Expedition Everest once, shortly after it opened. As a lover of all things Animal Kingdom, I really wanted to like this ride. But no way! After I got off the ride, I spent about 3 hours just sitting around, trying to calm my stomach. After 3 hours, I was "up to" riding the train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. And that night, when we went out with friends, my tummy was still slightly "off". So think of all that time wasted due to that one ride. I could have been enjoying Animal Kingdom that day, partying that night, if only I hadn't gone on EE. So I say that WDW has too many great things to do to risk feeling sick.

7DMT is not a thrill ride, not even close to the intensity/roughness of BTMRR or Space Mountain. It is comparable in intensity/speed to the Barnstormer, I would say 7DMT is less jerky than Barnstormer. We convinced my 70yo+ parents to ride 7DMT this year, they don't do anything rough any more. They enjoyed it, did not suffer any ill effects.

Thanks everyone. I have FPplusses for all of us but I can sit out if I chicken out. I am not worried about nausea. I guess I was wondering about the jerkiness/roughness of it like some rides.

I don't normally have any nausea issues BUT a few years ago after the main Universal's Harry Potter ride... my equilibrium was off for an hour or so; dizzy and and to sit down for a few minutes right after coming off. Mid-ride I realized and shut my eyes but it was too late!

Anyway--Thank you!

With 7DMT, you can also walk around the outside of the entire ride and get a very good idea how fast it goes, before deciding whether to ride. The 7DMT ride cars swing slightly side to side, combined with the new track, that makes it less rough/jerky than Barnstormer.

The Harry Potter ride is a different animal, you can easily get motion sick on that ride.

7DMT is not a coaster like Space Mountain or Expedition Everest. If you're doing Splash Mountain the Mine Train will be a breeze...........its really not bad........just to short. :P

I have a bad back. 7 Dwarfs rocks you side to side and is not so good for my bad back.

If it's the whoops in the belly that makes you avoid Thrill rides, then I say the one drop on Splash is more than the one drop on 7 Dwarfs. Splash is not bad for my back.

I hope this helps.

My parents both avoid Big Thunder and Space Mountain. My mom gets motion sickness and hates coasters; my dad has many back and neck issues. They both loved 7DMT! They rode it three times and would've ridden it more if the lines weren't so long. I thought it was really smooth and quite tame compared to the others. We all loved it. I think it helps that it goes very slowly inside the mine and only speeds up outside.

You definitely should try it! Don't miss out, you really might like it. If not, it's a tame ride anyway. Enjoy it. The interactive queues are fun.
