Can I get the ship to print a SW boarding pass?

If you do early bird check-in just download the Southwest app and you can access your boarding pass in the app. No need to worry about paper. Works great at the TSA checkpoint.

I only do them on the phone now, but when I had to get paper boarding passes I always got them at the airport kiosks, never had to stand in line.

You can also print them at the airport kiosk instead of waiting in the long "full service" southwest line. I have even done this and then gone to the "quick service" bag drop.

This is what we did. WE had Early Bird check in, because, even though we could have done family boarding, I did not want to risk getting our family spread out. We arrived before it was time to drop off luggage (had a mid/late afternoon flight), so we had to hang out with the luggage. While DH did that, DD and I went to the Disney store and one of the little kiosks to print our boarding passes ourselves. It took less than a minute and there was no line.

Am I the only one who sees being separated from the family as a perk on Southwest? After a week together I love saying okay son and okay husband, here's your iPads, here's your headphones...see you in 2 hours when we land? It's like SW understands how annoying my husband stealing the armrest and my son saying "hey mom, hey mom, look at this" is

And, those people are paying for DCL transfers as part of the Onboard Airline Check-in program and the printing and delivering of boarding passes and airline luggage tags is a perk of that service.

I'm not sure how this can be explained more clearly for you?

The perks are that if you are using disney cruise transportation and using a participating airline of the DCL drop you bags off outside your cabin and next see them at your arrival airport luggage claim they will automatically print your boarding pass for you.
If you just use the disney cruise transfer and book your own flights, guest services may or may not be able to help you.
Otherwise, as it stands, it is your responsibility to make your own arrangements to print them yourself, Either onboard if you can, or at the airport.
Customer services on the ship are not obliged to do so for you. Since you are not using a participating airline, you are not entitled nor should you expect to have your boarding passes printed for you.

People utilizing the Onboard Airline Check-in not only pay for the transfer, they also restrict themselves to the terms of the program -- flight times, participating airlines, etc. (which may also mean they are paying higher airline fares, but that's a whole other issue). So those people get the added bonus of being assured DCL Guest Services will print their boarding pass.

You are welcome to ask. I think people are recommending that you have a "plan B" in mind if you are told they won't print it for you. I think from another post you've indicated you have a somewhat earlier-than-recommended flight and you are probably hoping to shave off as many "extra" to-do's as possible to make that go smoothly. In that situation, I'd plan to use the electronic boarding pass on a smartphone.

Last weekend we flew Southwest and saw a family of five spread over several seats. Mom and Dad did manage to keep the youngest with them, but the older two were seated separately a few rows away. The parents seemed to enjoy the excuse to get up and stretch their legs, in the guise of checking on the kids, offering them their plane snacks (which the kids declined.) I think the kids enjoyed the break from the parents too. It was a 4+ hour flight and the kids were fine.
