Can I get the ship to print a SW boarding pass?

What are my options to printing a boarding pass while on the ship? I'd rather not wait to get to the airport if I don't have to.

only if you are part of the airline program. I believe they print it and leave it in your stateroom otherwise you have to do it at airport.

I think you might be confusing "check-in" with the actual printing of the boarding pass. Be sure to check-in 24-hours before your flight and you will be granted and locked into A, B, C or D boarding pass. When you get to the airport, you can easily re-print boarding pass when checking luggage or at self-serve kiosk.

Alternatively, pay extra "Early-Bird" fee for A boarding pass and no need to check-in.

Southwest doesn't participate in the OnBoard check in. I would either buy early bird check in or use WiFi to check in and then print your boarding pass at the kiosk at the airport.

We were just on the Dream for the July 1st sailing and we had Early Bird check in for Southwest. My husband was able to have the customer service desk print our boarding passes. We still had to check our own luggage at the airport but at least we had our passes.

Thanks Anne, just what I needed to know, so customer service will print a boarding pass for me. I did early bird check in since I won't be online at sea.

Print your passes yes. Like I wrote my husband went with all our flight reservation information early the day before we were to disembark and Customer service on the Dream delivered the boarding passes to our room a few hours later. Hope that helps! Enjoy your trip!!!

You can also print them at the airport kiosk instead of waiting in the long "full service" southwest line. I have even done this and then gone to the "quick service" bag drop.

This is my suggestion above as the last time I tried (on the Wonder in December) they would not print them at Guest Services and we had EB so were technically checked in already. It wasn't a big deal but I knew this came up and wanted to try it and to see if it would save us time.

If they won't or can't do it onboard, just go to the self service kiosks at the airport and then you can join the shorter line if you need to check luggage.

You can also log in while on board and have the boarding pass sent to your phone via email or the app. That is what we did last time and it worked great. The free 50MB of data was plenty to check emails during the cruise as well as get our boarding passes.

Ok, while some people may have been able to get Guest Services to print their boarding passes, don't expect it. It is not usually something they do. Just think of how many boarding passes people would be asking them to print (out of the thousands onboard a good portion fly). I could see it getting out of control very quickly. I just wonder how fair it to have guest services print them out when others are paying to have internet service to print their own out.

You can also have it texted to your phone and bypass a paper boarding pass altogether.

Does anyone else see the correlation between the withdrawal of the Characters signing items on a unofficial basis that was started to create some special magic for a few to be pixie dusted, reported on these boards, and exactly what is going on right here, or just a couple of us? :rolleyes2

But they print out all the boarding passes for the check-in that they provide if you're on the right airlines.

Exactly, Because those passengers are on a participating airline program, and the ship most likely has a list sent to them by the airline or dcl shoreside electronically, and a log in to the airlines systems to do so. Not for each passenger that doesn't have a ticket with a participating airline, who has to write it down, taking time at guest services, and then more time for them to print it when they can, then deliver it to your cabin.
Resources on a ship are finite, and the more and more people that read after hearing of someone who had this done for them once, the more it becomes an expectation. Then it becomes too much to handle and the once helpful guest service staff who went above and beyond one off service gets removed.

I've done it a couple ways in the past. I've paid for the EBCI one-way, and another time I had someone back home log in to check in for me 24 hours in advance. I usually just check the bags at curbside and the line tends to be way shorter, and they'll of course print the boarding pass for you there.

And, those people are paying for DCL transfers as part of the Onboard Airline Check-in program and the printing and delivering of boarding passes and airline luggage tags is a perk of that service.

We always pay for early bird check-in (because who wants to risk a family being spread all over the plane anyways) and then just do as suggested earlier- print from a kiosk at the airport and then check your bags using that boarding pass(es) or hop into the full-service line - sometimes it's shorter than the express baggage line anyways.
