We are booked at one of the resorts mentioned in the room discounts for fall. But we have a package deal. Can I call and have the discount applied to the room portion of my package?

Yes, as long as you don't already have a discount on your current reservation and the resort/room type you have booked is available under the discount, you can have it applied to your existing reservation. The discount will be applied to the room portion only, but it can be applied to a package reservation as long as it's available under the promo :).

Yes, you can definitely apply a discount, if available for your resort, room-type, applied to an already booked package. They will apply the discount to the room-only portion.

if you have booked a package through Disney you cannot call and ask for the room only discount be applied to your package. this is an entirely different deal. She can call and ask if there is free dinning available for their resort and time frame. The room only discount is just that, room only.

i have tried to do this in the past and have not been allowed to do it. If they can good for them. That would be great for anyone to do that.

Good luck. You should call and ask. I spent an hour and a half on hold and was told they could not apply the room only discount to my existing reservation at Port Orleans FQ. It didn't hurt to try an save a few dollars.

I've always been able to apply the room only discount to my package without question. As long as there's availability it shouldn't be a problem.

I am on hold now. But, after reading some of the "no" responses above, I am losing hope ;-(

If the CM initially says no, should I press?

You can try, all they can say is no. I know the phones are crazy today, so you may want to wait. let us know how you make out. you may be a lucky one and get it. I guess I was never lucky, or some people just know more than me!!

We already had a free dining pin and were booked with it for 2 rooms at the Poly this fall. Today I was on hold for 2 hours and ended up saving 79.56. They said it was best to keep my daughter her husband and my Grandkids on the free dining pin but our room they changed us from free dining to 30% room discount but they had to charge us the new dining plan prices. So you may have to change your reservation depending on your situation.

Youre 100% mistaken. You can add a room only discount to the ROOM portion of a package. It doesnt mean you have to have a room only reservation.

If they say it cant be done, yes. If they say it isnt available youll just need to check a different resort.

I think you may have gotten a CM that didn't know what to do or that it can be done. But as aaarcher86 posted, the discount will apply to the room portion only, but can be applied (pending availability) with a package reservation. I booked 2 RO reservations this morning with the new discount and was asked if I wanted to add tickets and DDP. If they can book a new package under a RO discount offer, they can modify one as well. If you try to do it again in the future and are told no, I'd hang up and call back or ask to speak to a supervisor ;).

This is correct, I have also apply a room discount to a package in the past. I also agree, if you are told you cannot do that I would ask to speak with a supervisor or hang up and call back.

Yup....just did it today!! Easy as pie! Saved about $600!!!

Now I will say last year I got a CM who didn't know what she was doing...and made me cancel existing reservation...and rebook without a package. What a pain that was! Hopefully they got it to work for you!

Hmm while reading replies I cannot help but to wonder if maybe it was not necessary for the CM to have us pay the new dining plan costs and possibly she could have kept the same reservation we had at poly with free dining and switched us to a room discount without us having to pay more for dining costs than what were out when I booked us in May of this year.

P.S. I replied earlier on this thread if anyone needs more info. I'd appreciate any input.
