Can I get DP without a ticket? (AP holder)

I currently have a room only disc booked at the pop for the 1st 2 days before my DVC trip.

I would like to take my DD6 to Cape May for dinner the 2nd night, but getting the DP would be cheaper.

So here are 2 questions.
1) Can I get the DP for both nights without buying tickets (As we are AP holder, and no AP holder discounts out for Aug yet.)

2) Can I get 2 separate Ressies (okay if need to change rooms), to get it just 1 night( specifically 2nd night), like on DVC?

Thanks fellow helpers. :confused3

DDP needs to be part of a package, so you would need to buy at least 1 days ticket.

well in most cases I'm sure pp is correct BUT i just called a few weeks ago to make my hotel/dining reservations. I am getting military tickets at a different date and they still let me get hotel and DP.. so maybe since you are AP holder then that already counts as your ticket part of the "package"

I would ask because I totally thought I would have to buy tickets through WDW to be able to get the DP but nope..

:):cheer2:

wait.. AP means annual pass holder right? Like it's annual tickets?
LOL sometimes I don't know the lingo :rotfl:

We had an AP discount on our room last August and then again in October. We did not have to buy tickets in order to add the DDP. I'm not sure if that would work with just general public discount, though.

However, with FD, then yes, AP holders have to buy at least a 2 day ticket in order to get the dining added at no extra charge.

I kind-a thought I would have to pay OOP for it..

I HATE to spend 60$ for crab legs.. but I see no other option :) Maybe I'll see if there is something at the swan or Dolphin. :thumbsup2

Sometimes.

From time to time packages without ticket purchase requirements are offered to annual pass holders. But none of these offer free dining.

Actually my son just booked a passholder discount for next December and he was able to add the DP without purchasing tickets (not FD). He had a PIN attached to his name, but that was just for the room discount.

I would have sworn that AP holders could always get a dining plan, that they didn't have to wait until there was a special. Honestly, I'd call to ask Disney!

Yes you can get dining plan if you are AP holder...they will add it on and make it a package which payment is due 45 days in advance. We have been passholders for many years and I usually add it on to our room only.

Yes. When we went last May with our AP we booked the first night's room at the AP rate without dining because we weren't arriving until late in the evening. The 2nd night we booked another ressie at the AP rate with dx dining just for the one night (and got our free mugs and 3 TS credits each.) We dined that day at 2 TS restaurant using two credits per person. Then the next day we checked out and back in with the AP rate and the QS dining plan, got another 2 mugs which we took back to our girls, and got 8 QS meals each for the next 4 days. We still had 1TS credit each left from our 2nd nights ressie since they don't expire until midnight on the day of checkout. We ate at Captain's Grill for dinner (delicious crab legs BTW) using those two TS credits.

It was a bit of a pain to keep track of which room key had which dining credits on it (and one time we used the wrong key and had to ask Disney to reverse it and charge it to the correct ressie). Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!

WOW THANKS ! Today is the 180 day window.. I booked it and will figure the rest out. I CANNOT wait for those crab legs :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to add a dining package on to a AP room-only reservation after it's been booked? Or do you have to cancel the room-only reservation and rebook it as a package?

Thanks,
Jenny

AP Holder can book DDP and this puts you under pkg rules ( payed off by 45 days out, get Arcade vouchers, Discount on water rec etc) It is a pkg without tixs. I did this for our DEc trip and would do it again if it fit my needs.
