i have 250 pts. at ssr.i would like to be in a gv at okw for early dec.not having okw as my home i may be running a gamble to secure this gv for dec.so.........,can i book a gv at ssr at 11 mos out and then call for okw at 7 mos out and IF a gv is available for dec at okw can i book it and cancel ssr all at the same time?

Yes you can. In fact, that's the best way to handle it. Just keep track of the difference in points and how you'll use (maybe bank) the extra point difference.

You might make a post on the 'rent and trade' board, to see if an OKW owner will "swap" points with you. That way you can try to book at 11 months. Early Dec is a very busy time for DVC, and GV are sometimes very hard to get. Good luck.

to trade my points would be optimal.i'll give it a try but how can i be sure the other party doesn't leave me high and dry?is this something dvc handles for us or do we do all the leg work and have ms sign off on it?

December is pretty popular with DVC members, so a GV at 7 months that time might be difficult to impossible. Trading reservations with another DVC member is a good idea so you can book at the 11 month window.
