Ok...so I want to go to MK on a day that they have MVMCP and I know that they close to the public at 7pm. Can I make my CRT ressie for 7pm and then leave the park after that or do I have to be done eating and out of the park by 7pm? Just wondering?

TIA

As long as you have an ADR you should be fine I believe. It's the people who don't have a ticket that want to ride the rides is what they're really worried about.

So should I make it for 6:45 or can I make it for right at 7pm?

Doesn't matter, if your calling in you can ask the CM this question and they'll probably tell you the same thing I told you.

Actually I would be surprised if you were able to get an ADR at this time without having a party ticket. The CM will and should ask you if you have tickets to the party. If you don't you my not be able to get an ADR past 6pm. It's not the rides that Disney is concerned about, it's persons without tickets hanging out to see the special parade and fireworks. If you get an ADR for 6pm you will be escorted out of the park following your meal. The CMs have been pretty good lately checking wrist bracelets. You won't even be able to get into a restroom or shop after 7pm.

I have an ADR @ Tony's on 10/1 @ 7:40pm. I will not be going to the party that night.
The CM didn't ask me if I was going.

They shouldn't have let you book it.They didn't allow it in the past. You will be finishing up right around when the parade should be coming down main st. Which is notfair for those that are paying the extra $60 a person to see it.The party is more than rides it is the parade and fireworks.

I AGREE WITH YOU 110%:thumbsup2

1) The CM goofed by not asking.
2) Without a ticket, you will ushered out of the park well before your ADR. *
3) Park closes at 7:00pm, and they don't want non-ticketed people around.
4) It is not fair to those paying the extra bucks.
5) People without tickets should not see or be part of the extra activities.
6) I assume you booked your ADR with that in mind.

* Some people try to go to the ADR ahead of time, trying to get in before they are ushered out of the park. This way, they can eat and then sneak into the party. Or they can see party things on their way of the park after dinner. However, WDW is wise to that and the restaurant will ask you for your party ticket. If no ticket, they will not let you into the eatery after about 6:00pm, or so.

Anyone with an ADR on a party night better go make a different reservation...there have been numerous posts in the past from out-of-luck folks who were ushered out of the park at closing time, regardless of ADRs...and these people were told if they wanted to keep the reservation they had to have a valid park ticket. Which of course, after official closing time the only valid ticket would be the party ticket. So yeah, they could stay for their Tony's or Plaza reservation if they bought party tickets for everyone in their dinner party.

Every time I've ever made a reservation for a restaurant in a park, they remind you that you have to have a park ticket...that's definitely a way for them to justify not honoring your ADR after regular closing on a party night. You don't have valid park entrance with just a regular park ticket, so you can't go to your ADR.

I am so glad I read this thread! I hadn't even thought about this possibility but could have been stuck in a nasty situation with the wrong ADR time. Last year we had a very late ADR at LTT but it wasn't a party night just PM EMH. I think that is where the BIG difference lies. With EMH the big attraction is the rides but with the parties it is the Parades and other special events.

I would be so upset to pay for a party event and find out that some people got to see what I shelled out big bucks for for free!

Did they remind you that you would need valid park admission? If they did, then they were letting you know you would need whatever type of ticket is required to be in the park at that hour. On party nights, guests without a party ticket will be asked to leave at 7pm. CM will not allow guests without party wristbands to enter ride lines, or restaurants or to purchase items in gift stores. Not sure where you plan on being between 7pm and your ADR, but a CM will likely ask you to leave the park long before 7:40.

they will get you out of the park...there have even been threads about people who were not allowed to use the park rest rooms after closing on party nights. I think there have been enough complaints from people paying $50-$60 extra for the parties that Disney has adopted a total no-nonsense attitude to closing on party night. They used to actually close an hour earlier & clean-sweep the park to get everyone out...the new version allows everyone an extra hour of park time (that hour between 6 & 7:00)but does make them more apt to shoo people out immediately.

EMH nights are completely different...they will let non-resort guests stay inthe parks to shop & eat...you just can't get on the rides without Disney resort room key card.

So you think 6 would be okay? I wanted to do CRT on arrival night then head to bed early. I'm not trying to see the MVMCP stuff. We're doing that later in the week. It's just such a pain that MVMCP is going on 4 nights. It doesn't leave many options. Also, if our flight is supposed to arrive at MCO at 2:30 and we're taking a towncar, while that be enough time to make a 6 PM ADR?

Wow I didn't plan on getting Flamed for sharing my ADR. No I hadn't thought about taking in the activites w/out paying for them. We will be going to the party 2x's during our trip just not that night. I could only get and ADR for 7:40. We planned on just heading to the Rest. @ 7 and checking in and waiting it out. This is our arrival day. We figured we wouldn't get to the park until 3pm and wanted to eat dinner somewhere. Having a 9 year old and a 9 month old I didn't want to travel somewhere else for dinner. I wasn't thinking about the party at all. I guess maybe I'll try and get a new ADR for somewhere else.

You weren't flamed. You were given facts by a Cast Member. That CM did not indicate you would be trying to sneak into the party; he/she stated that people have done this (or tried).

How on earth was the pp to know that the person is a cast member.. come on! Some of the info was not given in the nicest of ways. I do not blame the pp for feeling flamed.. could have been suggested in a nicer manner that they call back to inquire about their reservation.. simple as that!

Come on now, everyone in here knows Rusty………;)

Rusty is a “Just the facts” type of person, I know the posts can come off as pushy but they can be well-informed posts. No need to get so defensive as it did sound like the ADR was scheduled to get around the park hours and the party activities. Good luck!!!

I don't see why a 7:00 ADR would be a problem if you do not have a ticket to MVMCP. The park is technically open to day guests until 7 pm, it is only after that time that day guests are asked to leave. If you show up to the ADR 15 mins early like Disney requests and check in, then they should seat you and allow you to eat your dinner. Don't expect to dawdle after your ADR, you will escorted right to the front of the park to exit, no bathroom or shopping breaks, but they won't kick you out of the restaurant in the middle of your meal.

The 7:40 ADR is a different situation, at that point the park is closed to day guests, and they can escort you out while you are waiting for your ADR time, because you likely will not be sat for dinner prior to 7 pm.
