Hi everyone,

I am needing help or a reality check.
we are booked to go to OKW in 7 weeks, booked at the last minute due to having a really bad 6 months as a family, we need something to look forward to and cheer us up.. what better:banana:

We have booked a one bed villa and here is the question I am thinking of upgrading to a 2 bed if I do this can i keep free dining ? the reason I am thinking about this is the kids ( teenagers really ) not keen to share a bed.

I think though I have read that the refurbished villas in OKW have an extra chair bed does anyone know if this is the case ( I have phoned Disney to ask with no joy!) if so what rooms are already refurbished ? as this would be great

Many thanks for any help or views
Could be I have got so used to being worried over the last while that I just need to chill :rolleyes1

There are a fair number of our DISers who have stayed at OKW during the Summer and plenty who did so earlier this year.

I wonder if putting OKW in the title of your thread may draw you a bit more in the way of specific responses. There have been mentions and questions about the newer rooms but I don't recall the details.

Hi

Thanks i will try that, and hope my IT skills are up to it :rotfl:

If you select EDIT in your post, when it opens the text window for you to edit, look at the bottom and you will see "Go Advanced". If you click on that you will be able to edit your title. :goodvibes

The refurbished villas have a sleeper chair. Sort of small single bed when opened I guess. Not sure whether they provide sheets for it (they do for the sleeper sofa). Would not like to bet on getting a refurbed room, probably not even half way through the process so these rooms may be at a premium.

Our room was in building 19 and not refurbished. I think you woud have a good chance of getting one though, if you requested it. There are pics on the DVC mousecellenatious thread - OKW lovers. I am sure the refurb rooms have a sleeper chair. You will love OKW.

I am hoping for this too as we have 2 teenagers, both boys fortunately, but I thought about contacting nearer the time to ask if we could request this.
Not sure if there is a section on the online check in section of the wdw site that it could be put there ,

Who did you book with? Usually the best way is to get it noted on your reservation, which you can do at any time. If you want the assurance that your request has been noted, ask them for an amended invoice or for email confirmation. I booked with Disney UK and my requrest is printed at the bottom of my confirmation.

booked direct with disney uk , would like a nice location too but don't want to push our luck! will defo phone them :thumbsup2

I don't think it's pushing your luck. You want to avoid having an inventory of requests, but asking for something like ground floor, rooms 1234 to 6789 for example is not unreasonable. The general advice is to try and avoid asking for a specific room as if that exact location is not available at the time of check in, it turfs the request out of the system and you could end up anywhere. Of course you can always ask them at check in to show you on the map where your room is. They usually give you a map anyway. If you feel you are way out from where you hoped to be, just ask them. Only if the resort is incredibly full will this be a big challenge.

Yes renovated 1 beds have a bed settee and a single pull out sleeper chair.

I understand the rooms furthest away from hospitality house have been renovated.

I've put a note of our request on our booking with disney UK and may call the resort directly 3 or 4 days out.

I know requests are not guaranteed but if you are requesting any renovated room due to opposite sex not wishing to share and don't mind a far flung room I think you will be ok.

When are you there - we are at okw 15th-2th October?

We there 2nd to 16th october. have already asked for higher floor room when booked, so might just ask about rehabbed room and nice location but not sure, rehab prob more important than nice location. Not having been at OKW before I think the locations are nice where ever you are though not sure. People on the OKW lovers thread do complain about location ie rooms being too far to walk from etc, but I think that is an american thing as they don't seem to walk too far anyway . Hope no one takes that the wrong way! not meant as insult.

Hi, have just returned from OKW stayed 12/8 - 21/8 - we were lucky enough to get a free upgrade from the studio to the 1 bed.

We were in block 47, had a ground floor apartment which seemed vast.

It had a sofa bed and a chair bed - with bed linen provided for both. My DS was very pleased not to have to share a bed with his DS!!
