Can I do this? Re Expedia packages

I was looking around on expedia for rates for an early Feb 04 trip. Myself, dh, dd and ds are going. We all have many unused days on old passes, so I hadn't planned on a package.

The great rates that Expedia lists for rooms (as everyone knows...) require adding on UMPs.

I know I must be missing something, but I realized if I booked the room and package for only one person, you can still get the hotel room cheaply and have one person use an UMP and the rest of the party use PH's. I can get AKL for $985 including taxes and one adult UMP. AAA quoted me $943 for just the room.

Can one person get the package and have the rest of the party not??

Thanks!

I don't think you can do that. I could be wrong, but I think that everyone in the room has to be on a package.

Since your passes never expire, it might be worth it to buy the package for everyone this time, and save the passes for another trip.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I almost booked this rate when I saw it, however if the passes are only length of stay ones, it's not worth it if you're coming in at 8 pm. Does anyone know if these are hopper passes or length of stay passes only.

Thanks in advance.

Hillbeans,

They are length of stay passes.

Emilyp,

I'm trying to think of a reason why you couldn't book for only one person. How would they even know you had more than one person staying in the room? You might have trouble getting resort IDs for the other people, but what do you really need them for?

This sounds like a good idea to me. I will be watching this thread to see what other people think.

It wouldn't be hard to figure out that there is more than one person staying in the room - I'm pretty sure that housekeeping would notice.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to sneak my family in and out of the room during vacation just to save a few bucks. Too much hassle for me.

I've read that you need resort ID's for early entry, so that could be an issue if planning to do EMH.

I guess I wasn't very clear;) . I wondered if this was against Disney policy or not. I don't think it is worth it either, I'm a very high strung person - I'd be paranoid the whole time!:D

Thanks!

It sounds like you would need two beds - so I wouldn't be to hard to figure out that more than one person is staying in the room when a solo reservation asks for two beds. With a one person reservation they may only provide one bed and you would be stuck with your kids having to sleep on the floor. I agree with others, it sounds like to much of a hassle for a slight savings.

Hello emilyp. I was on the Walt Disney World web site and it states this:

"3 night package from $99 per adult per night based on
double occupancy".

I went through the booking process on their web site and it did add length of stay passes for all parties. You could probalby verify this by calling WDW.

Good Luck! :)

We used early entry every day and they checked ou rresort passes every time
