I have regular annual passes, they expire at the end of March. We are going to the world on Friday for our first DVC stay. I would like to renew our annual passes (but this time at the DVC rate). I would like to save as much money as possible. I thought I could save a bit extra by buying tickets from Undercover tourist (I am in Canada so would have to get the Electronic tickets, couldn't get physical ones mailed to us as there is no time) and then using them once, and then upgrading them to DVC annual passes. First of all, can I buy a DVC annual pass at guest relations in a park? Second of all if I can, is it possible to upgrade used tickets to a DVC renewal annual pass and bridge the price? I know I can upgrade tickets to an annual pass without issue, I however am wondering if the same is possible for a renewal DVC annual pass

Even if it is a regular AP purchased without the discount, you can purchase an annual pass renewal at the DVC renewal discount price any time between 60 days before and 30 days after the expiration date. You can do it at guest services at the parks and will need to show DVC member card and possibly ID's for all adults getting them. I am not sure about the upgrading issue although I doubt you can upgrade a different ticket to a renewal AP.

Rumor is prices will increase this month (most likely Sunday), I would make a quick decision.
