I have a paystub that says I make over the min. of what 2 people must make. Do I have to prove I am separated? (I'm not, but DH will NOT go to one of these).

that is not why husband and wife must attend.

i think it is the state's law about buying real estate - they both must sign the contract....

of course since you are not going to buy (NEVER, NEVER buy from a developer)....

what you tell them is up to you.

you don't have to PROVE to them ANYTHING if you are just simply doing the tour - you WILL have to divulge how much you make on the form they have you fill out prior to your tour (you do not have to provide a paystub though, how many people actually carry around paystubs while on vacation??) They have no way of knowing for certain what you tell them is true or not till you are in the buying process and they have to have your credit run/verify your income.

I am a single mother & have done numerous timeshare tours for the benefit and no one has denied me the monetary gifts or challenged my income or whether I'm married or not. You might want to think twice about wearing your rings if you tell them you are not married though, that might cause them to question you.

Have fun!! :cool1:

I've learned a lot about these boards; therefore, I'm putting my flamesuit on and sitting back :confused3

DH and I went on a tour recently, and the form that we have to sign up on requires you to initial that you haven't toured with them in the last 6 months, that you haven't done xyz, etc. That you make over xxx minimum dollar amount AND that if you are married that spouses are touring together.
When I thought that we were purchasing, we were given certain benefits if we "referred" our friends. I said that we have a number of friends that worked opposite hours, and wondered they could still do the tour. They told us no.
However, that being said, I don't believe they pre-screen or require any sort of proof, other than a credit card and license when you tour.

Hey, I figure they LIE to you so why not LIE back.LOL! (I have taken ONE tour and they flat out lied and when I called them on it they got just RUDE! I pointed out that Fairfield resales were much cheaper and they told me that they weren't and that "you aren't a REAL owner" WHAT???)

not this time....

most people have experience a timeshare sales person lying and I mean flat out lying to them. not once but over and over....

I think these people are brainwashed and assumed everyone else is too....

so I don't think lying is the best way to go - but hey these people ask for it.... by their lies....

3. NO FIGHTING: Several Internet news groups are marred by the actions of a few selfish people who turn an otherwise positive forum into a soap box for their anger issues. Internet newsgroups are not moderated, and therefore, anything goes. These boards are moderated in an effort to keep the discussions appropriate to the topic at hand. Those who feel they can not abide by these rules are welcome to read the posts on the board, and respond via email to the person who posted the message. Messages that are argumentative or sarcastic in nature will be deleted without discussion......

....
We do not believe in censorship, and open discussions about various issues is encouraged. We ask that everyone conduct himself or herself with respect when speaking to other people. It is okay to disagree, as long as the discussion remains respectful of the feelings of others. Once a discussion begins to step over that line, the post in question will be deleted. In extreme cases, individuals who are not able to conduct themselves as responsible group members will be asked not to return.

If you have questions or issues regarding this, please feel free to direct them to the webmaster at webmaster@wdwinfo.com

Very valid question MickeyP, not to worry:)
Just want to remind everyone that it is a valid question, one that I 've wondered myself. My DH hates to go on the tours as well - but the freebies always get us in the end;);)

...okay? :thumbsup2
Carry on folks:)

Well how about this. Once we were at Universal and the salesperson was BEGGING us I mean he was BEGGING us. My hubby was like it was the end of our vacation and he was not about to sit in a presentation. The guy continued to plead. He offered us 80.00 my hubby said no. Then he turned to my sister who is an Orlando Resident and ask her would she do one. My sis told him she was a single waitress. To his reply he was like So. He told me that I could do one as a single and she could too. Their main concern is to put people in a seat ANY and however they can. So, they are aware that games go on and many of them play those games.
I just do not like doing them by myself and had choose to forgo the money, but the guy was fully aware that I was married, he wanted to make his quota so he was going to sign us up anyway possible.
