We have already booked a reservation for CBR for 4 days and now we worked things out were we could stay an additional 3 days. DH would like to stay at the POFQ/R for the last three days.

Can we switch resorts midstay on the same reservation?

I guess what I'm asking is can we add the three additional days at the new resort onto the original reservation or do we need to make a new reservation?

To add to the confusion, we got a PIN for the free dining that ends on the day the original reservation ends but we would like to add dining for the three remaining days. Oiy...this is confusing me. :headache:

Thanks for your help!

You'd need to make a separate ressie for the 2nd resort. Just book the "free dining" pin on the second reservation. You should get it for the length of your 2nd reservation (up to 10 days I believe), as long as you check in no later than the date the offer ends.

The only problematic thing about doing this (besides the packing, unpacking, and moving mid-trip) is that you'll need to use up all your DDP credits for your first ressie by the end of the checkout day of that ressie, or you'll lose what's left. But then you'll have 3 more days of DDP on the 2nd ressie starting then. Just don't expect to have DDP credits from the first ressie still available to you by day 6, when you're on the 2nd ressie. Keep this in mind if you try to skip a table service meal one day, holding the TS credits over to use them at a dinner show or whatever, a couple days later.

Sorry, but if you switch resorts, you'll have to book a new reservation, and that includes having to place another $200 deposit and buying more park tickets (if you decide to do a package). I would just stay put at CBR. I'm not sure how it works with the free dining pin, but you MAY be able to use it for your entire stay. I'm not 100% on that, call Disney to find out for sure.

Since you're using a free dining offer, I'd suggest you stick with a single reservation rather than doing a split stay. To get free dining at your second resort you'll need an additional 2 day ticket purchase per person in the room. That really adds to your cost. You can extend your original reservation out the additional 3 nights at your original resort without having any additional ticket requirements, subject to room availability with the discounts of course. You can extend beyond the dates of the pin as long as your arrival date is within the valid dates.

As others have mentioned the only issue with doing a split stay is if you want dining on the second part you have to purchase another set of tickets.

If you did not want dining, you could easily book a room-only reservation for the second part and continue using the tickets you purchased with your first package.
