I got the closing papers ready to go for our BWV resale. But before, I send them back I would like to double check that the 2004 points and 2005 are intact.

The closing company said they checked and it was okay but I just want to be sure.

Is there a number I can call to check on the seller's account? Will Disney tell me?

Thanks!

In my experience, DVC will not tell you. What you should do is ask your agent to get you a current copy faxed over from MS so you can verify the points. I did the same thing on my resale...and it really should just be part of the service that your agent provides. Good luck:cool:

BTW - I am assuming that closing papers means you passed ROFR - if so - WELCOME HOME!!!!

Thank you!!! Yes, we did pass ROFR :p

When I first made the offer the agent checked on the points and did say that they checked with Disney and points were intact.

Can't wait to get things all done....then we won't be DVC wannabes anymore :hyper:

You can check through the seller. A 3 way call should do it or you could have the seller contact DVC and have them email you the info. If the closing company specificially checked the points accounting, you should be OK. This would not be the usual as most closing company's only check the number of points you're buying, not the actual accounting thereof.

You are buying a real estate interest and like anything else, I would leave nothing to chance. I recently bought a BWV contract and it had a full year of banked points. I INSISTED on seeing the Disney statement which indicated this. The realtor wasn't too interested in providing this but I held firm. For a novice, it is a little difficult to understand but I figured it out. Better safe than sorry! And congratulations on the new contract!

As Dean mentioned you could go to the seller also, however, if you are using an agent, I believe it should be there job to help facilitate this. Just let them know you will not sign the paperwork without seeing a fax from MS clearly stating all points. When I bought resale, I never spoke with the seller, just my agent (who was also the agent for the seller). Plus, my seller lived in another country, Argentina I think, so I was definitely not going to call down there to get them to call MS. Just push the issue with your agent and get what you want to make you comfortable.

Thanks for all the replies!

I contacted my agent and told them I wanted to see the seller's account statement and then I would send the contract back.

No problem at all for the peace of mind!

I got the account summary today and all is well...I'm sending back the closing papers today.

Can't wait to be an "official" DVC member :Pinkbounc

Once we are in the system, does Disney send you a new member packet?
