Here's my dilemma. If I check in on Nov. 18 , I can qualify for free dining. But I can't check in until Nov. 19. If I make my ressie online, pay for it, but don't show up on the 18th, what happens to my ressie? Do they cancel it, or what? What happens if I show up on the next day? If they already have my money I can't believe they would just cancel it.

Maybe you can call the hotel on the day of the start of your ressie(the 18th) and say that your flight was unavoidably delayed.

Please read the post livndisney linked you to. What it all summs up to is that no one can say for sure what will happen. But can Disney take away your Free Dining. Yes they can. But there is no way to know what will happen until you check in. You can try doing what you are thinking about, but you are risking loosing the Dining Plan. And losing your reservation alltogether.

well, if I lose the dining plan then I am back where I started from anyway. I am going to call Pop Century and ask them and see what they say

Just so you know, calling Pop Century will actually get you a Call Center where the operators can see what resort you're calling and will answer the phone accordingly. Go ahead and call, but be advised that reading the entire thread linked here - especially the two posts that copy Walt Disney World's reservation policy word for word, the part about cancelling and fraud (NOT meaning that's this OP's intent).

Please be aware that the people at the call center are not those who are going to be the ones deciding what will happen to your reservation. That is up to the people who will actually be at the resort, running the place. Not the people at the call center.

There is truly no way to know for sure what will happen until you get to Disney World. Disney CAN cancel your package. But will they? No way to know ahead of time for sure. The people working at the call center are in no position to guarantee you that you will be ok.

I think some people are being quite harsh with you. I just wanted to give you an insight as to the situation a friend of mine experienced. My friend did just this last year, against my advice. Booked a night on the beginning so she could qualify for free dining. She called the day before saying her plane was delayed. They asked for her flight number. When they found out her flight was not arriving until the next day, they kept her rack rate room reservation but removed the free dining. Please be prepared to not have the free dining. If it is that important that you have the free dining, I would physically check in a day earlier.

The above was copied from that other thread.

Respectfully, if Walt Disney World wanted this promotion to be available to Guests arriving on your date, they would not black out that date. That date is, however, within a week of Thanksgiving - a peak travel period, when they really don't need to entice Guests to visit.
