Can I change an existing ADR to a CP ressie?

If I make a "regular" ADR at one of the CP restaurants, can I use that same time ADR once the CP packages are released?

For example, say I call Disney Dining on June 21 to make an ADR for December 21 at Via Napoli. Then let's say Disney releases their CP packages on June 24. Can I use my current ADR and simply "add" the CP package to that specific time? Or would I have to cancel that ADR and make a new one that is CP specific?

First time to WDW during the hectic Christmas week. Getting a little nervous about ressies!

No - at least we have not been able to do that in the past.

So there is no benefit to making an ADR now if you really want a Candlelight Dinner package.

Keep an eye on the boards and you will know when you have to make your CP reservation. Then book online or call as soon as they become available for the night you prefer. You should be able to get something, especially if yo are flexible with show times, restaurants or dates. Good luck!

In past years having a regular dining reservation would not help you get a CP res. You had to book the CP dining package specifically. Also, there are only specific time frames linked to each of the 3 performances so your mealtime will be based on which performance you want to attend.
