I know,I know, non refundable/changeable means just that;) I have a nephew visiting, and his travel dates were changed (not in his control) the day after he booked a ticket home- He's on Delta, anyone know if there's anything at all I could do to help him with his ticket, other than just scrapping his current ticket and buying a new one? just thought I'd check with some of the gurus here before we went ahead and booked his new date.... TIA

CALL THE AIRLINE IMMEDIATELY. Most airlines give you a grace period and will offer a full refund. Some airlines a few hours, some give until midnight and I think others allow 24 hours.

Some airlines will allow you to change if you pay a change fee. Unfortunately, sometimes the fee is more than the value of the ticket.

That's one thing I like about Southwest. You can change as much as you want without fees. You do, however, need to pay the current fare, which can go up or down.
