Can I call to check for individual days during my waitlist??

I have a 1 BR at AKV for 11/5-11/8. I am waitlisted (but happily staying at SSR) 11/2-11/5 for the 1 BR at AKV. Can I call to check to add a day on, say call for 11/4?? Do I need to call every day to check, does it change that often?? My understanding is the waitlist is for the entire block of days.

Yes, you may do that. If you are lucky and 11/4 is available, you can add it to your existing reservation and change the waitlist. Then you can call and ask about 11/3 and repeat the process.

Don't think I'd call more than once a day.

Help me understand waitlisting. I have never had to worry about it and it now effects me. We are waitlisted for Dec. 28th, 29th, and 30th. So I will not get the days unless the whole block is available? If a 29th and 30th is available and not the 28th I will "get passed up"?

Please help me understand. Thanks!

Exactly. You are better off calling every day and checking availability. Chances of all three days coming through are slim. Either that or waitlist for one of the days and call on the other 2 until you get both of them.

One point to consider: If you have a 3 day waitlist and call and get one day, then change waitlist to include only the other 2 days, you will go to the bottom of the waitlist again. May not be a huge issue unless you are going at a busy DVC time like early December.

I called yesterday & got one of the days on my waitlist & the CM said he was able to "alter" my waitlist & remove that day without having to start the waitlist all over again. Hope it's true & he wasn't just "yankin' my chain".

Good for you! Maybe this is another example of differing stories from different CMs at MS. Glad you got a positive answer--and next time I am in this situation I will call back if I don't get lucky like you. Here's hoping the rest of your waitlist clears!
