Can I buy my AP now??

I want to buy my AP now while I have money put aside. I just want to make sure that it does not start until the first day I use it. I won't be going to WDW until October. Also, what is the best place to buy it online?? Should I go to the regular Disney website?? I am going to use the $100 DVC discount, how can I prove that I am a member??

Normally, when you purchase an annual pass before you go, the voucher NEVER expires. The countdown doesn't start until you turn the thing in.

I BELIEVE it's the same way with a DVC annual pass. But, in order to get it with the discount, you have to call DVC Member Services. Since you're calling them, I would just double check with the agent you speak to when you order it.

I just ordered our new annual passes yesterday. When we got our last annual passes, our "anniversary date" did not start until we turned the voucher in at the parks. We got ours off the dvcmember.com website. Go to this website and click on the link to buy your annual pass. http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/member/memberLanding?id=MemberPerksLandingPage#5

That will take you to an order page and also have your $100 discount already factored in.

We activated our new passes last week. The countdown started then.

I just did this a few days ago.. I went through the International Gateway to enter for the first time and activated my AP pass there at the gate.... MAKE SURE you take you DVC membership card with you. I was asked for my membership card which of course I didn't have so they had to call member services to get my membership number. They made sure I was a DVC member too keep the discount.
