Can I buy a ticket for magical express?

I was just wondering how much it would be (or if it is even possible) to purchase a ticket for the magical express. My family is staying at a WDW resort, and meeting up with my sister who would like to come back to the airport with us.
Would it be easier to just say "add her" to the last night of our resort reservation and then she would automatically get a ticket for the ME, right?

How much is it to add a person to a moderate resort reservation for one night? Is it a standard cost or does it depend on the date?

You can't purchase DME it is only offered to WDW resort guests. To ride DME you must be a resort guest and have an advance reservation.

So if you are able to add her for one night that is what you should do. If you are not over room occupancy and she is under 18 there will be no fee. If she is over 18 it will be $25 per night assuming adding her doesn't put you over maximum occupancy.

The other alternative is to book her on Mears IIRC it is $21 per person one way and $34 rount trip.

Not if you add her after the package starts!

Since they need the DME for the trip home OP could add a person after they check in which doesn't affect the package and make the DME reservation then. The "extra person" would not have dining credits however she would be room only.

Again - this all works only if they don't exceed maximum occupancy by adding another guest. If the sister is under 18 no cost, if the sister is over 18 its $25 per night at the moderates.
