Can I buy a separate dining plan from Magic Your Way?

I already booked WL - room only - with AAA discount. Now, I'm rethinking the dining plan as I'm making ADRs at expensive places! I reserved through Disney and didn't want to deal with transferring the ressie (if that's even possible) over to AAA to make it a Magic your Way package with the AAA discount.

Can I attach a separate Dining Plan - or does it only come as part of a package?

The Disney Dining Plan only comes as part of a Magic Your Way Package. Do you have an AP? If you have an AP then you can purchase the Disney Dining Experiance (DDE) card for $60 that will give you 20% off on most restaurants at Disney World.

You shouldn't have to transfer anything. Your AAA agent should be able to add the DDP package to your already existing reservation -- provided you were not looking for the Free DDP as that had to have been booked by June 25th.

You can place a call to your AAA agent, tell them you want to add the DDP to your package and they should be able to do that unless there are only a limited # of pkgs available during your timeframe.

Good luck! princess:

I think the OP booked a "room only" ressie directly with Disney with an AAA discount. For a package, the ressie must be booked through a AAA travel agent. I would contact the AAA travel agent, give them your ressie number, and see if they can transfer it. You may need to call Disney and change it yourself.

If I am reading the original post correctly, I think you booked through Disney but got a AAA rate. You do need to book the package with AAA to get the discount on the room as far as I know. I never have understood why... anyhow though, it is not difficult to do and they can transfer any ADR's you have already made to your new confirmation #, just make sure the AAA agent knows what they are doing.

I did reserve through Disney. I am definitely sold on the Dining Plan now, especially after looking at the cost of the ADRs I've made!

I was just hoping that the transfer over to AAA wouldn't be a big deal - I don't want to lose anything!

Also, if Disney comes out with a "room only" deal for October, would that count towards the room part of my package (assuming it's better than AAA discount)?

Thanks so much!

Lisa
