I am sorry I know that this topic has disscussed and questions asked so many times but I want to make sure that these items are ok on planes since I will be traveling with my 2yo DD.

Lollipops??? (I know that they are solid but I want to make sure)
Makers and Crayons???? (I would assume crayons would be fine but I am not too sure about the markers)

Also my DH has ahsma but it does not act up very often anymore so he does not have a prescription inhaler. Can we bring a trimantic one on the plane?? Also solid medication like excedrin hard white pills are ok to take on as well right??

Thanks so much

yes to all but possibly the markers

see tsa.gov

stay tuned for rules to change shortly

I fly quite often and have just returned from a trip. I see no problem with any of the items except the Triaminic if it is in liquid form. The TSA allows for 4 oz. of liquid medication to go into your carry on. It has to be in its' original bottle or in a prescription bottle that matches the drug and you. I carry liquid Visine without any problem, but have taken all my lip glosses and other liquids/gels out of my purse. Any tablet (non-gel cap) medications are fine. The markers shouldn't be looked at as any different than an ink pen, which is fine. However, when in doubt, check it! If you're bringing crayons and don't need the markers, check them. I have found that the less in the carry-on the more easily you'll move through the screening areas. In no way should you think you're going to sneak things on...especially bottles of water. Since the new rules have been out, I've seen more people try to "sneak" liquid drinks into their carry-on's only to go through the hassle of a full bag and body search for their trouble. These people may not realize it, but it slows the entire process down for everyone! Considering you have a two-year old, the time and hassle involved with being searched would make for a very unenjoyable flying experience for your family. Fly smart, don't bring anything you can't live without in your carry-on or handbag.

I had bought my son a Color Wonder Travel Tote (not messy! :thumbsup2 ) a couple of months ago- just before this increased security was put in place.
I had hoped that a new toy would keep him busy on the plane- he could take the time opening it and more time coloring.
Maybe I could just leave it home, or pack it, but I would have loved to bring it. Anything to keep him occupied during out ride!
