I've run into this cake thing before and it was kinda complicated. The first time, I ordered a cake from the Grand bakery (so good!) and tried to have it delivered to the California Grill. Well, they did it, and when we arrived at the CG, they brought it out at dessert time and served it to us, no fee or anything additional. They were very nice about it.
The second time, they said they could not deliver cakes from the Grand to the Contemporary (even thought they had done it for me earlier the same year). So I went to the Grand and got it myself and tried to drop it off at the CG earlier in the day before my dinner. Well, low and behold, the resturant would not accept the cake, saying they could not take on the liability of serving a cake not made by them to guests in their resturant, for there was no way to ensure the safety of the cake, the ingredients, or the guests. When I said they'd done it for me before, they just said sorry. So I had to physically walk in with the cake that evening and serve it up myself.
When I talked to the waiter that night about it, he said it was likely a pride issue with the hotel's head pasty chef, feeling jilted because people often try to smuggle Grand cakes in to the Contemporary. What a hoot!
So, I'd get your EM square in the middle of it and have them make magic for you. Otherwise, you will either have to lug the cake in and risk opposition, or you will have to carry a cake around until dinner time (ugh)!
As for the champagne, I'd be surprised if you can get it in the gate. I think it is against park policy to bring in outside spirits. Plus, even if you smuggled it in, you can't bring your own booze into a resturant that serves alcohol. It is in violation of the state licensing laws, and they won't risk their license for anything.
So the cake may work out, but the champagne is likely a take it back and drink it in your room deal.
Of course, you should double-check all this with your EM to see if they can help make it happen for you.
Good luck!
