Has anyone actually been stopped for bringing beer on board?

I know that you must consume it all before returning. Duty issue.

I have brought stuff on board in the past and left the remainder in the room for the cabin steward.

dcl has no problem with people bringing beer onboard, but the airlines are now advising no beverages or food to be packed in checked luggage. Just heard this on the news the other day.

We brought a case of beer with us on our cruise..put it in a carry-on with wheels. No problems and it saved us quite a bit of $$. We bought the beer in Cape Canaveral after our plane landed (we arrived the day ahead of time). Plan on doing the same thing this June with cruise #2!!

Keep the receipt when you buy the beer - if you have any left you'll be able to prove that you bought it in the US and so won't be subject to any issues with duty free limits.

Not that I recall the people at the port being all that worried about things like this - basically its an honor system; unless you are carrying multiple cases of liquor off the ship, you are unlikely to be questioned about a few extra cans of beer.
