Can I borrow, then bank?

Hopefully I'll figure this all out soon! My question is with my August use year. I make reservations for a 2 bedroom for May 2006, using 80 points i have left for that year, then borrow 75 from 2006 year. If something happens, and i only need a one bedroom, I would need 30 points less. So I know those 2006 points would remain in my 2005 year. But would i be able to bank those 30 points, from my 2005 points? (It says 25% of your points by May 31), does that mean 25% of what you have left at that point, or 25% of your contract)? I hope this makes sense! :confused3

Reservation #1: 80 2005 points + 75 2006 borrow points - total 155
Reservation #2: 50 2005 points + 75 2006 borrow points - total 125

That would leave you 30 2005 points left, which you could bank if you are within the deadline. It's 25% of your total contract points. So if you have 200 points, you could bank a total of 50 before the end of the 10th month (cummulative of all banked points).

You could still bank 2005 points provided you're within the banking windows as you would be with 30 points in your scenario. But you could NOT rebank the borrowed points themselves. For this reason, it's always a good idea to make sure they use banked and borrowed points first when making a reservation whenever possible. They usually do on their on whenever possible but not always. Depending on certain circumstances this is not always possible at the time you make reservation. Reasons you might not be able to use banked or borrowed points might be home resort priorities and if the points were tied up with another reservation then freed up later. They will not automatically substituted the banked/borrowed points and in some cases, may not be able to sub them at all. But you should always ask if you're in this situation and there are tricks to make this more likely to work out in your favor.
